Imagine being turned down by the manager of the SPL's 2nd best team.

Can life get any more effing depressing for the Makems?
Didnt Billy Reid do something similar while at Hamilton when one of their clubs came in for him?

Turned down Swansea before BR, I think. Or maybe after BR and before Martinez. :ponder:

It is a good decision on his part, to be fair. Sunderland are an absolute black hole, another Aston Villa where careers go to die. If he wants a good Championship job, another one will be along soon enough knowing that league, and he'll get the huge wage increase as well.

How much are Sunderland in debt, £100+ million? No wonder he said no.

Pretty smart move by McInnes; especially when his dream job could be available in the not too distant future.

I am happy we have the opportunity to defeat McInnes's team another six times next season and the season after :)

Quite a sensible decision in fairness.

Absolute basket case of a club. If he takes them up, he probably loses his job 10 games into the next season as they flounder at the foot of the table and struggle to match the expectations promotion brings. Doesn't take them up and he'd be gone too.

Really is a tough ask being the first guy taking on a relegated EPL team right after they go down.

Sensible stick by Mcinnes. Can't see the player's wives having much about them at Sunderland.
