Sven Goran Eriksson has been sacked by his Chinese club. They announced he was gone by posting a poem about his successor on their website.
He is a complete joke today but won the Uefa Cup, Cup Winners Cup, Serie a, 3 Portuguese title, & lost a European Cup final mainly with unfancied teams.

It's a bit of a shame to many, he'll only be remembered as a clown.

That to, he would have gone close to winning Euro 2004 or the World Cup in 2006 if England could take a penalty.

The Euros was a missed chance, they beat Portugal on penalties & it's a flaky Netherlands team & Greece in the final.

Tommy Wright would be a good appointment for Aberdeen, although I think they may try and get McLeish.
dont think they would have to try too hard , he would be glad to get off jobseekers allowance

After he got the England job his sole focus seems to be his bank balance. His CV pre-England stands up well against just about anybody.

Good news for Aberdeen.

I can only assume that McInnes was put off by the financial trouble Sunderland are looking at.

He's shat it.

Or probably realised that a team saddled with debt in 9 figures of debt and whose fans will expect them to go back up would not be the best idea.

He still gets to visit ibrox whilst with Aberdeen would have been more difficult to do that at Sunderland.

Fair play to him. He'll have turned down at least trebling his wages. Must have been made decent promises about funds.

McInnes probably decided to stay at Aberdeen when the job interview started with Martin Bain showing off his best modelling poses.

Right move. There'll be other opportunities down south, Sunderland is a poisoned chalice.

Plus, nice boost of our league. And didn't want to see Aberdeen decimated as it looked that they might be.
