As funny as it is being McCann, at least Scottish clubs are now giving younger and inexperienced managers a chance.

Canning, McCulloch, Hartley, Archibald, Cathro, Ross, Foran & McCann are all good examples of this.

In the past it would have been Calderwood or Jefferies

remember when i worked in aberdeen, and aberdeen were looking for a new manager.

A messenger from the solicitors that deal with aberdeen football club came in to our office and said
"Won't say anything more other than Billy Bingham in Aberdeen today"
he was the N. Ireland manager.

We rushed off to the bookies to try to get odds on Bingham but no-one would give us odds.

Next day Porterfield was announced.

Maybe the messenger got long odds?!
