Koeman to Everton is a strange one. Southampton have been doing well and investing well. Everton haven't. A bit of a sideways step if not a backwards one.

Anything to do with the new owners of Everton maybe?

It sounds like he might double or even treble his wages.

It doesn't seem so strange when you consider that fact.

And may be given a transfer budget of upwards of £100m.

I get that Lennon might have left us for personal reasons (which is fair enough) but if he did it to advance his career I reckon it's the worst professional decision he's ever made.

Everything after Celtic (bar a very few small exceptions) is a step back. Nothing comes bigger or better.

Big mistake and now he's on the outside looking in after only two years.
Did he not leave because of the constraints he was working under? At least that's the popular belief anyway.

Bolton wad a disaster for him. Hibs would be a decent return back to management I reckon.
From Celtic to Hibs in two years? That's quite the come down. He had one of the biggest jobs in football at Parkhead. Constraints or otherwise he was mad to give it up.

Could see Koeman making a massive bid for Virgil to replace Stones. Virgil is the better player, of course.

Do we have sell-on clauses for these two?

Neil Lennon had 2nd meeting with Leanne Dempster today regarding taking over as Hibs boss.

I fear for his safety considering they probably hate Hibs more than us at the moment.

Think this makes sense for Lennon, but would be interesting to see who he might bring in as his backroom team. Not sure Mjallby/Parker have the inclination to end up at Easter Road or that Hibs have the readies to kit their management team out in such a way.

Unless their squad is raided they should be well capable of winning that League with a couple of able reinforcements, regardless of anyone talking about the apparent strength of the Championship.

Dundee United currently have 12 players excluding youths, and Falkirk are already being picked off after failing to win promotion.

It was a serious black mark against Stubbs not gaining promotion so the manager who does do it can look at it as an achievement. He's also got the buffer of not having to turn up at Ibrokes or Tynecastle for at least a season, unless in the cups. European football too, albeit likely to be limited to two or four games tops, in July.

Thereafter there's establishing a promoted team back up in the top 4 or 5 teams, which should realistically never be far beyond Hibs teams, given the resources compared to most other clubs.

If Lennon did take the job I can see them romping home in the Championship. Equally, he'll be a massive thorn in Sevco's side which is always good for us.

Koeman is gonna get a big shock when he finds out his 'warchest' of £100m is being funded by the sales of Stones and Lukaku. Diddy - only enhancing his own wages at Everton. Good to see that after all their posturing about "Mourinho and Pellegrini la" that Everton are getting a decent but by no means box office manager.
