BR has gone out of his way a few times to say McInnes is doing a good job.

He would say that.

Maybe so.

Seemed genuine enough to me, though.

Is McInnes' stock in England not very very low after his Bristol City nightmare?

He was behind their worst loss run in history I'm sure

I don't know what else could have been suggested that expected of him at Aberdeen this season. His style of football certainly isn't great but 2 cup finals and a second place will see him being noticed.

I'd be shocked if he got the Sunderland job.

He's done a good job at Aberdeen though despite being a limited manager.

It would be nice to see Aberdeen expand their scouting network a wee bit and try find some youngsters from the continent.

Weird to think that McInnes could conceivably be linked to any club other than Sevco.
And yet... if it wasn't for Celtic, the Sheep would be aiming for a Treble this weekend!
I suppose a "best of the rest" treble isn't too bad. Plenty of previous managers have done a lot worse at Pittodrie.

Can't be many times a club has finished second in all three comps.

You can't really hold 1 failure against him, Benitez, Ancelotti, Conte, Del Bosque have all been sacked from jobs for failure.

That said, I think his Aberdeen records overplayed, 2nd biggest club/budget for 4 years, no Hearts, Hibs, Oldco & he's won 1 trophy.

Aberdeen did that in 92/93, second to the Huns in everything.

Head-hunted Aberdeen legend Willie Miller reckons it’s only a matter of time until Derek McInnes is targeted by English clubs
The Pittodrie gaffer is the bookies' favourite to replace fellow Scot David Moyes at Sunderland

83/84 - lost to the Huns in the LC and Aberdeen in the SC, runners up to Aberdeen in the League ?
