The very notion of Moyes managing Celtic always horrified me. Several years ago, when his stock was considerably higher than it is today, he made it perfectly clear that there was a pretty long list of other positions which interested him far more than being the Celtic boss. For me, that makes him the wrong man for the job now and forever. The same goes for the likes of Lambert, Coyle and anyone else who sees Celtic as a fall back if nothing else comes along.
I can accept a Celtic manager quitting the post if he's worn himself out or he feels he's already given the club everything he possibly can but I never want to see us being managed by someone who hesitates for even a moment when he gets the slightest chance to manage Celtic.
Thank heavens we did get a manager who totally understands what the job requires AND - even more importantly - how to do it. Moyes ticks neither box and he probably knows it.

Moyes isn't a Celtic manager. He's not got the heart that people like WGS and Lennon had, and he's certainly not got the philosophy of BR.

I've noticed several times as a pundit he's crowbarred "Glasgow Rangers" as he calls them into conversations, which to me says his heart isn't with Celtic. Having passion for a club can compensate for some technical or tactical failings (see Lennon, Neil) but Moyes is no Celtic man, therefore when the going invariably gets tough, he's not got the heart to pull us out a hole.

The guy is a miserable human being who doesn't have any interest in Celtic, and should never be considered again. Ever.

Had he answered his phone instead of hitching his skirt to the Sunderland Chairman, we might have seen a very different Celtic. We had both Rodgers and Moyes in talks, but it would be fair to say Brendan wanted it more. Moyes left at least one call from PL unanswered as he didn't want to be in the position of perhaps having to choose. He thought his profile would suffer , which is why he turned down mega bucks in China too.
I'll wager he looks back now and wonders " what if".
As for the future? I'm pretty certain he'll take time out and bugger off to America for a while. His future may be with the national team after we get pumped out the World Cup, or perhaps in the Championship, but I guess his career at the top level is all behind him now. Sunderland FFS. And I thought Lenny made a rickets of his career with Bolton.
What a fanny.

Moyes will be back. Where who knows - Watford I'd say is a possibility. There will always be a job for him. It's the EPL normal rules don't apply. Just look at fat Sam.
Fat Sam is the Red Adair of English football. Kept Sunderland and Palace up against the odds. Good at putting out fires and steadying ships.

Allardyce is a bit of a self-important windbag, among other things, but a better manager than David Moyes.

I said at the time that Moyes over Rodgers would of been absolute crazy.

The difference between the two is night and day and Moyes had nothing to show he would of been a better appointment.

Moyes would of had celtic doing the bare minimum to get over the line and that's what my issue was. That to me was another Delia and we needed a lot more than that.

That fud who was on here 24/7 before BR got appointed bleating about how Moyes was a certainty for the job should have been banned, almost certainly a hun.

It shows you pish we were under Deila that Moyes was even considered a half decent option at one point.

Moyes has lost whatever it is he once had. There's no danger of him getting a job in the EPL now. He'd maybe pick up a mid-table English Championship team if he's really lucky.

The Scotland job is made for him though. No expectations of success or entertaining football from either his bosses or the supporters. Provided his ego allows him to stoop to setting foot north of the border half a dozen times a year the job's his.

What did he ever have?

He had Everton treading water and playing uninspired football at the top of the EPL mid-table also-rans which is the least anyone would have expected given their size, etc. He didn't even build a legacy.
He took Preston up from Div2 and into Div1 play-offs. Not a particularly remarkable performance again given their size and potential.

There is a school of thought in Manchester that he was deliberately picked by Ferguson in order to put an even greater gloss on the Ferguson era (look what you had) - I think there is some merit in that.

Had he been appointed at Celtic, he would have been an unmitigated disaster - worse than Ronnie. At least Ronnie tried to play football.

As I said yesterday: crap then, crap now, crap forever. Let him pitch up at sevco - they'd suit each other (although he is a shoe-in for Scotland).
