Owen Coyle new Blackburn manager
How does he keep getting work :ffs:
Coyle built a good side at Burnley. His stock was high and plummeted.
Some Celtic fans bear a grudge against him because they imagine he snubbed us before Mowbray's appointment, which isn't the true story.
Given proper resources to work with, I reckon Coyle will come good again.
In the only piece of privy information I've ever had (it came from the top and I was subsequently advised to remove what I posted from this board), I know for a fact Owen Coyle was number choice in 2009 but snubbed Celtic because of budgets.

Really don't understand why Lennon would want the Hibs job? :suspect:

Surely with likes of Coyle Stubbs etc picking up jobs in Championship he could get one.
He's just been relegated from the Championship. Do you think Mixu Paatelainen would be a target for SPFL clubs after taking Dundee Utd down? Lennon has the same problem. Taking over a Hibs side that must be favourites for promotion might not be a bad move for him - the key is to make sure he gets out at the right time.
Anyone with half a brain wouldn't hold that "relegation" against him surely? Riddled in debt no room for manoeuvre in transfer market, players and staff not being paid etc Mourinho wouldn't have kept them up FFS.

Stubbs had cracks at Championship and failed with Hibs yet he's landed a gig in that league.

3 League Titles, Cups & Champions League experience for Lenny would surely be enough to land a job somewhere down there.

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
Keane is involved in the professional game, not kiddies football where some have to be coaxed and encouraged all the way.
Roy was a winner who gave all and demands and expects the same from his players.
A rocket up the arse is what a lot of these players need.

On Aiden McGeady: ""I think he can do a lot better than last night, but maybe that's the story of Aiden's career.

Not much wrong in that statement, when you consider the wages he's drawn over the years and what he has produced in return.
It's not wrong at all, and it would be fine to say if he was just a pundit.

But there's a reason managers don't say these kind of things in public. Keane has no people skills at all. He always seems to try to play up to his 'no nonsense' persona with the press too. That interview is so typically Keane. Thank god he's not our manager.
Sure, but he isn't the manager.
Maybe Martin is happy for his number 2 to rustle a few feathers & then he can discuss it with them as the manager?
Good cop, bad cop.

Really emphasizes the gap between Scptland and England. From Hibs, arguably Scotland's fourth or fifth biggest club, to Rotheram, a team which has never played in its domestic top tier or won a major trophy. And that is seen, presumably, as a step up.

Personally I don't think he will get any better options. After his stint at. Celtic it took over six months for him to get even a "dont touch with a barge pole " offer from Bolton. Fairly or not he will be seen as having managed that team to relegation. His wee stint in the front pages of the papers a while back won't have made him any more attractive to perspective employers. Imo he now needs to rebuild his reputation if he wants a career as a manager. If he does well at hibs it might get him another stint at cp next time round.

Seems not though for whatever reason.

Hibs would be a good job for him to take on.

Lennon made a monumental carrot of it going to Bolton. I cant see him getting the hibs Job but if offered he'd be daft to knock it back.

Potentially a great club.

Unfortunately, it will be in terms of salary and budget. There are the time we live in. Many of the English Championship teams will have a bigger budget than us next season. Look at recent transfers. Middlesborough paid £9M for Jordan Rhodes and Fulham paid a similar amount for Ross McCormack. We won't be in a position to throw that sort of money at a single player. As long as the gap in TV money remains as wide, we are fecked.

Sums it up. Think Stubbs will also want a big job in England one day and making his mark with Rotherham may well allow that.

Realise the new tv deal is yet to kick in but there is a massive disparity in the championship in terms of budget. From what I can see Rotherham have spent a grand total of about £1.5million in transfers in the last decade. Not quite the land of milk and honey.

It took a small Neil Warnock shaped miracle to keep them up last year. If Stubbs isn't unemployed this time next year I'll be very pleasantly surprised.

My Blackburn supporting mate is raging

He wasn't  at all. Says its like us appointing someone who was a great player for the Huns, that we hated, who then went on to manage another team we hated.

AND his track record in management is terrible.

Thought about it for a while then imagined the reaction if we'd appointed Stuart McCall.

:carpark: :pitchfork:

Then remembered 1) Brendan and 2) Souness, men against boys

Koeman to Everton is a strange one. Southampton have been doing well and investing well. Everton haven't. A bit of a sideways step if not a backwards one.

It might be easier to improve everton than improve southampton currently.
