It's a win win for us. We get the wee Dick off the telly and hopefully he takes Dundee down totally destroying what little credibility he had and so he doesn't get a gig on the telly ever again.
Don't be so sure. The world of football punditry is like a who's who of failed managers. Souness, Neville, Stubbs, Butcher, etc, are all too comfortable appearing on TV telling us where teams are going wrong despite flopping themselves when they had the chance to manage. Alan Hansen and Andy Gray had the right idea staying out of the dugout and denying anyone the opportunity to claim they could only talk a good game.

Mourinho, Wenger, Sachi, Benitez, Ancelotti, Del Bosque, Lippi have been sacked for flopping somewhere.

Brendan Rodgers at Reading aswell.

So I wouldn't be writing Neville & Stubbs off as failures yet.

I wasn't writing anyone off, just pointing out that those who think failure to turn around Dundee's fortunes will mean the end of Neil McCann's media career are in for a disappointment. Whatever McCann does or doesn't do over the next five games pales into significance compared with the torrid time Neville had at Valencia, yet Sky were waiting with a multi million pound contract to get him back in the TV studio as soon as possible.

I want them to stay up. I want them to win every game, for the rest of the season, 5-0. I want McCann to be made an offer he can't refuse to take the gig on a permanent basis.

I then want Dundee on flag day.

No, that won't affect them at all. Relegation will.

Gutted we will never play McCann's Dundee. I really hope he is still there next season. "Accidental" slide tackle by John Clark as McCann collects the ball at the touchline for our new signing, Antoine Griezmann.

I really can't fathom the logic behind the appointment of McCann. Dundee are a club fighting relegation. Usually after sacking the manager, the team would turn to an old, experienced hand. One with a track record of keeping teams in the league. A 'Big Sam' type.

I'd like to say I feel sorry for them, but I don't. Hell mend what's coming to them. Neil McCann

Did they just give it to the first guy who applied? I can't think of a single good reason for a struggling club to appoint someone with no managerial experience and whose media career to date has never shown him to have the slightest understanding of the game of football.

Oh well, they won't be missed.

Dundee was my Dad's team so I want to like them.

There's something a bit half-arsed about them, though.

Ronny off to a great start.

Quote:

Ronny Delia has been forced to apologise to his predecessor at his new club in Norway after the former Celtic boss labelled Valerenga a 'rock bottom club.'

The ex-Hoops boss has endured a disastrous start to his new job after three defeats in his first four games of the season to leave the Oslo club in second bottom spot.

Deila - who had insisted at the start of the season he was aiming for the title - pointed out after their 4-0 defeat to Molde that the club were 'rock bottom' when he took over and had underachieved for years.

But that's infuriated the Valerenga boss he took over from.

Kjetil Rekdal said: "I think Ronny has distorted the truth and he's been very disrespectful.

"In the last few years, the club has had to slash costs just to survive.

"He should know that some of us had to work at the club in a difficult time when we had to take pay cuts.

"So to say he's taken off a rock bottom club is wrong."

And Deila had to issue a statement of apology to his predecessor.

He said: "Perhaps it was sloppy of me to say that.

"I can't remember saying they were rock bottom.

"Valerenga is a top club in my eyes and if I have offended anyone, I really apologise.

"What I meant to say is that we have struggled in recent years and last season we were almost relegated."
