I know McGhee is embarrassing and the last couple of results have been embarrassing and the fans have issues with him due to other things, but I don't think that is a smart move from Motherwell.
Have to agree

Certainly a bad run but dont think they are in any danger of the drop
Running on a shoestring
As a manager he's been a real mixed bag. On the plus side won promotion twice in the lower leagues in England, and got Motherwell into Europe a few years ago. But a disaster at Wolves and Aberdeen. He just barely has a winning record as manager; played 950, won 360, lost 357, drew 233. Mind you, there's not too many managers around who have won more than they lost.

McGhee was highly rated when he first started but got a deserved reputation as an opportunist when leaving Reading for Leicester and the Foxes for Wolves.

It was then he made his infamous comment about the only sides he would leave Wolves for as a way of saying how committed he was to the club. But by then it was too late. His reputation had taken such a battering than when it went wrong at Molineaux he had little sympathy from fans and media alike and he can have no complaints about that.

Has made a bit of a spectacle of himself this year and I think he was always for the chop after the past few results.

Will remember him for his performances in the centenary double and wish him all the best. The aforesaid comment was stupid but I suspect a lot more supposed Celtic fans in the game would have gone to them at the time given the money on offer.

2nd row on the end at the right - to be avoided.

Back row 5 from left - shirt buttons are too tight.

2nd row 2nd left - chess champion.

McGhee was a complete failure of an Aberdeen manager.

Mowbray was a complete failure as Celtic manager but I don't hate him - hell if John Barnes hadn't bandied about accusations of racism for his failure at CP, I would have no axe to grind with him either.

I don't think most Aberdeen fans literally despise McGhee as a human being, but I can see why he's 'hated' in a football context.

Had Mowbray came in saying he was waiting on the Liverpool job and once he didn't get it he decided to join Celtic you might feel differently.

Substitute Celtic for Aberdeen & Liverpool for Celtic and you have Mark MaGee arrival at the sheep.

There's also the fact that we fisted Aberdeen 9-0 when he was the manager, so it all adds up.

The lack of imagination in Scotland is pretty effing sad.

Wonder how long it'll be before Mixu Paatelainen and Kenny Shiels are doing the circuit again.
