Wonder what the odds on Warbiola taking over at Leicester are ? Answers on a postcard to Joey Barton. Mancini is odds on favourite for the job with the bookies, maybe Warbiola has already turned them down.

Instead he takes yet another lottery-win payoff, which he will undoubtedly use to enrich still further his already-extensive European property portfolio.

Not extensive enough to include Leicester though.

Mourinho has seemingly slated Leicester's "selfish" players and worn a shirt with Ranieri's initials on it in support.

It's the return of Jose

Every fecking thing he posts has some snidey dig at Celtic. I couldn't care less about the achievements or otherwise of his team or any the rest of them in that league. It's his constant trolling that gets on my tits.
I've never noticed - I'm not really paying enough attention to notice. I feel like some people treat this place like a full time job, remembering who every poster is, and who once said something snidey in 1987.

Now that I'm suitably informed, eff you UltraFox ya snidey bastard :shakefist: :arrr:
Don't really care, just hanging out with you losers until something better comes along.

Too cool for school, Stevie.

The League Cup ceased being a major honour 25 years ago.
When Manchester United won it for the first time?

It's so devalued only the top clubs win it.
Ourselves and the Old Co. won the majority of the Scottish League Cups in that period and you'll hardly find anyone on here claiming its a major trophy, you only have to check the League Cup threads for that.

The English League Cup still has a European place attached.

I notice you edited your original timeframe because you realised MON's wins were outside of 20 years ;)

Nah, I edited my original time frame because I believe the decline in the League Cup's prestige happend with the Champions League era, which started earlier than I originally calculated with 20 years.

Besides MON's first win occurred 20 years ago so it hardly defeats my point in that were the case...

Most clubs in Europe don't have a League Cup and the nations that do tend to treat it as the poor relation. Its not a major honour in comparison to the League title or European success or even a nations FA Cup.

No surprise Ranieri was sacked and tbh I don't blame the board for acting; if, that is, they have an alternative in place. They are staring relegation in the face and they have been utterly abysmal this season with no sign of it getting better. You can't afford to stand on sentiment when there is such a huge amount at stake. The Championship is a very difficult league to get out of.
And the Premiership is a very difficult division to win
Can't win it if your not in it
My point is that for a team like Leicester it'd be much easier to win promotion from the championship than win the premiership again.

They should have shown some loyalty to him for doing what will not be done again by them for a very long time, if ever again.

Jose Mourinho certainly takes it seriously

The big teams have dominated both domestic Cup competitions in the last two decades.
Folk keep saying they don't take them seriously, but they keep winning them.

On one of my horse racing groups, a woman has just related that she used to work in a bookies owned by MON when he played for Forest. Never ever heard of this. Anyone confirm or deny this story. No big deal, but never ever knew he was interested in racing, cheers

And it is a major honour, as such.

Celtic seemed to take it seriously, and I celebrated the win over Aberdeen like any other trophy.

Leicester had to do something to try and reverse the slide and I suppose sacking him was the only realistic option. They could have offered him a role 'upstairs' like the hun did with Advocaat but I doubt anyone with any dignity would agree to that.

From the horses mouth;

He owned a bookies along with his brother who ran the business.
Said they were making decent dough, but then he realised it was cause he kept losing
