I think it's the right decision.
Considering what he's achieved less than a year ago, and how he's getting the team performing in the CL, he should be given a bit more leeway compared to other relegation fodder managers?!

I'll save my tears for Ranieri.
Neil Lennon literally put his life on the line for Celtic and a fair section of the support were delighted when he left.
We're a fickle bunch. Claudio will be ok.
Because we didn't like the football that was being served up & being bitch slapped by dross at Hampden in cup semis and finals. None of which Deila corrected,

Had nothing to do with him personally, I doubt you'll find many Celtic fans who don't like Lennon.

I'm sticking my neck out here, but maybe Leicester fans aren't enjoying their football this year?

They're in absolute free fall in the league and I think they look like being relegated. It feels like a "lost the dressing room" type situation so you can understand the board trying to protect them from something that could be hugely damaging to the club.

From nothing to champions to a point clear of relegation?

Tough call. He had a tremendous season last season but they should be doing a lot better this season.

Had we won the 2003 Uefa Cup (which would have been a fraction of Leicesters achievment )& started 2003/2004 serving up football worse in the mid 90s would we have turned on the man who won us a European trophy 8 months earlier? Doubt it.

Idiots.
Whoever they get will never achieve that which Ranieri has.
Once they go out of Europe too, they'll realise it was catastrophic.

My guess is that somehow Ranieri has made them believe the impossible (Europe) as they did with the EPL last year and was content with making further progress in Europe against league success.

If we'd been in danger of relegation then yes, probably.
It's not a fair comparison though.
Getting relegated from the EPL is a financial disaster these days, despite the parachute payments.

Leicester look like they're getting relegated under Ranieri. If last year's achievements are his to enjoy, this year's failures are his fault.
The bloke seems like a cracking fella though.

Bear in mind that Ranieri is the guy who had Greece bottom of a Qualifying group having lost twice to the Faroe Islands. It's not inconceivable that someone could do better.

That said, if you offered a Leicester fan winning the league with the chance they would be relegated the next season I'd bet every single one of them would have bit your hand off. It would be like us bagging a manager who won the CL for losing at the first hurdle the next season. And we've proven we wouldn't do that ;)

from The Guardian live match report .... "They’re going to reappoint Nigel Pearson, finish strongly to stay up, then bring back Ranieri in the summer, thus winning the league again in 2018".
