A surreal situation, Ranieri trotting around the world picking up awards while the team are struggling then him getting punted.

No loyalty in football. I suppose that it is a bit justified looking at the table, but if it was made after the Sevilla result from last night then it's a shocking decision.

Shocking Decision! The guy won the league with a team tipped for relegation, then he gets them to the last 16 and still in with a great chance of the quarter final. Football is absolutely baffling. :cuckoo:

Mental.

Crazy.

Absurd.

Especially when you consider that carrot Wenger is still in a job when it's been over a decade since he done what Ranieri did last season. Sums up the shambles which is English football. Not even exclusive to the top flight, the Championship can be just as bad.

Leicester City vice-chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha:

"This has been the most difficult decision we have had to make in nearly seven years since King Power took ownership of Leicester City. But we are duty-bound to put the club's long-term interests above all sense of personal sentiment, no matter how strong that might be.

"Claudio has brought outstanding qualities to his office. His skilful management, powers of motivation and measured approach have been reflective of the rich experience we always knew he would bring to Leicester City. His warmth, charm and charisma have helped transform perceptions of the club and develop its profile on a global scale. We will forever be grateful to him for what he has helped us to achieve.

"It was never our expectation that the extraordinary feats of last season should be replicated this season. Indeed, survival in the Premier League was our first and only target at the start of the campaign. But we are now faced with a fight to reach that objective and feel a change is necessary to maximise the opportunity presented by the final 13 games."

According Sky the top three favourites to take over are Pearson, Pardew and Warburton.
FFS that makes it even worse
Replacing Ranieri with any of those three would be like ditching Scarlett Johansen for Bella Emberg. :cuckoo: :boik:

So normal service would see Leicester fighting relegation annually and the guy who took them to the title isn't good enough to win a relegation battle. makes sense.

Scandalous. Utterly, utterly scandalous.

That club should bend over backwards to Ranieri for the rest of time.

Find it amazing that the two guys who led plucky unfancied teams to titles last season, Ranieri and Deila, are both now no longer with their clubs. A cruel game indeed :(
