Very Special Football Manager and a Very Special Man - He is Sheer Class off the park - He understands Good People as he is one of them.

He has had offers and could quadruple his salary easily overnight but he is not driven by dosh - His and his family being happy is the important thing - Like Jock Stein he never forgets his roots - He knows he is managing the Celtic the EPL and European Big Guns have obscene money to utilise but Our Club is Brendan's Club he knows and has spoken privately that no Club in the world has the heart and soul and ethos of Celtic.

I met and chatted for quite a while to his daughter Mischa in Donegal - She lives in England and was with Brendan when he was managing Swansea and Liverpool - She said that much as he loved those clubs at the time she sees it in her Dad all the time that Celtic is so different to and means so much more to him - He lives and breathes it - She said he always says to her "This is Celtic Mischa - This is my Club :) "

He is a Celtic Legend already - Stay for the Ten Boss and only Jock will surpass you as the Greatest Ever Celtic Manager.
 and here was me thinking he was getting bored

Lennie will have to wait a bit longer
Yes - I have heard the "He's bored " stuff doing the rounds for a fair while now - He sure as feck didn't look bored on Saturday.

He has a three tier structure of objectives going on - Building for the future which he is slowly but surely doing /winning the league which is the priority for the CL dosh and then trying to improve in the CL - At the time he said he wanted Celtic playing regularly in the last 16 of the CL from where we were I felt that was a massive leap - This season in Europe didn't change that and Anderlecht at home hurt him - That is the sort of game I expect him to be trying to ensure Celtic will win and pick up points.

He himself says there are no guarantees in football re jobs albeit being Brendan he is sharp and goes down "a few bad results and you can be getting binned" line but as things stand he is going nowhere.
This season in Europe didn't change that and Anderlecht at home hurt him

I think so too. Was worried it might make him reflect on what can be done with this team and his conclusion might be - not much.

Hopefully we see a much better Euro adventure this year. We now have an established core group in Gordon, McGregor, Forrest, Sinclair, Brown, Griffiths, Tierney and - much to my surprise - Tom Rogic. Guys who don't want to leave, have felt enormous pressure in achieveing six out of six trophies and have accomplished it. Everyone single one of them a hunskelper who've been in that Ibrox cauldron and walked away with three points and a cigar in their mouth every single time.

We need that core group more than we need Moussa and Olivier in my opinion. They have huge experience now, most of them are still young, and they've shown they can bounce back from dissapointing games and take responsibility for their own performances.

They'll be the ones that keep this engine turning season after season.

That gif is my favourite image of the Brendan Rodgers era
The one of him on the touchline at that same moment is better .... just.

I'd take a treble treble over European progress, if I had to choose.
Depends what you mean by progress.
We're not the only team from Scotland to struggle with Progres in Europe. :lolhuns:

Moussa and Oliver are our only CL quality players in terms of their style of play. Without them we cannot be effective at the top stage.

Who gives an eff if they want to stay long term or not.

I'm not interested in what they're doing over the other side of the city. That will work or it won't. I'm not absolutely convinced we will make a lot more progress in Europe this coming season but for some reason I have a strong feeling that domestically we will be more akin to the first season than the second. The other teams better watch out.

He was definitely in Belfast yesterday. Went to visit a lad called Duffy in Twinbrook who travels across every week. He was the bus on my first trip over 20 odd years ago, Celtic daft so good to see as he's getting on a bit. Some of you may have seen him about on his wee scooter

That's right, he was also at Carnlough on Saturday.

May well have been in Glasgow last week but looks like he's had a few days in the 06 since then.

He was in Majorca - Back to Glasgow - Then Ireland.

Wee Duff, his outfit, badges and his scooter are doing fine and still at the games.

Jack the Plaque probably took orders for the whole Rodgers family for his replica silk* Lisbon scarves complete with names on - Probably have Rodgers spelt as Rogers right enough. :( :)

*silk (ish) in this case. :ph43r:

Was looking back at the start of the thread for some 'outing' to keep inline with recent threads.

Couldn't find much but this is still effing hilarious from a KDS regular.
