Billy McNeill - "Mr Celtic"
[ * * * * * * * * * * * * ]
Very Special Football Manager and a Very Special Man - He is Sheer Class off the park - He understands Good People as he is one of them.

He has had offers and could quadruple his salary easily overnight but he is not driven by dosh - His and his family being happy is the important thing - Like Jock Stein he never forgets his roots - He knows he is managing the Celtic the EPL and European Big Guns have obscene money to utilise but Our Club is Brendan's Club he knows and has spoken privately that no Club in the world has the heart and soul and ethos of Celtic.

I met and chatted for quite a while to his daughter Mischa in Donegal - She lives in England and was with Brendan when he was managing Swansea and Liverpool - She said that much as he loved those clubs at the time she sees it in her Dad all the time that Celtic is so different to and means so much more to him - He lives and breathes it - She said he always says to her "This is Celtic Mischa - This is my Club :) "

He is a Celtic Legend already - Stay for the Ten Boss and only Jock will surpass you as the Greatest Ever Celtic Manager.

Two years ago today he was confirmed :worthy:

Each season he has achieved something which has never previously been done. Can't wait to see what he has in store for us next.

If we can do the treble treble next year, that would clearly be phenomenal but what we really need to see is some real progress in Europe. Despite the tankings we’ve taken this year in the Champions League, the Bayern home, Anderlecht away and Zenit home games were very encouraging.
Agreed, progress in Europe will be vital.

I'm confident Brendan realises this and we will strengthen accordingly, hopefully with serious investment in player recruitment.

A quality right back, centre back and Edouard need signed as a minimum.

Graham Spiers on Twitter..

Brendan Rodgers on when he might be lured back to England: “I’ve got 3 years’ contract left at Celtic. Three plus seven equals 10. It’s a big thing for the supporters. I have a responsibility to 60,000 passionate fans.”
Brendan Rodgers here for 10 in a row. :)

It's highly unlikely but a European trophy would be amazing and really just top off how amazing the last couple of years have been. One can dream I suppose.

You'll be dreaming for a while, unfortunately the way UEFA are rigging their competitions getting to the group stages is an achievement starting this season.

It would be nice of course.

Didn't Platini practically admit the world cups have been rigged? It is depressing that teams from smaller nations are suffering.

EDIT!

This was it, put it in spoilers since it is a little off topic.

Nothing to that, the previous winners are never put in the same group as the hosts, that has been the case for a long time.

If we read that some Bulgarian club had gone 5 consecutive years unbeaten domestically, I wouldn't give a eff. If they had any sort of European success I'd notice.

I'd like the bigger prize, thanks.

Says it all.
Not sure I'll ever see a Celtic manager bring so much joy as he has.
He's on par or slightly shading MON in my book.
I think with the team MON had he could have achieved the same and some.

Anyway I love them both and if he stays for 10 then only Jock will be held in higher regards.

I’d take European progress if it led To European success years down the line.

I’d take a treble over reaching a European plateau of quarter finals
