Anything our manager will leave any time soon have been well and truly put to bed I would imagine he will love this opportunity of what seems like a genuine challenge coming from sevco unfortunately for them I don't think we will see a season like this one where we drop points to the dross like Dundee at home. They will basically have made us more determined to smash home our advantage come the new season and a renewed focus which for us will be a good thing.

Am I the only one who thinks Brendan and maybe even Celtic have had a collaborative part in the process of Stevie G getting this job.

Gerrard has been a pundit on a number of games involving Celtic since Rodgers took over, and has made quite a few positive comments about Celtic over the years.

I can totally see Brendan advising Gerrard to give it a shot, and to give the league some deserved exposure. I think the Huns are such little threat that we are helping them behind the scenes for the sake of a better league.
Can I have a pint of whatever you’re drinking
its not really far fetched.

Brendan would have given Stevie G a pretty comprehensive opinion regardless, and likely before all of this came out. Gerrard doesn’t give a eff about the Huns fans, it’s a free hit at a managerial job with a big club, and no real harm for him if it doesn’t work out, it’s not expected to.

I would imagine that the Celtic board would be quite happy to see the profile of the league raised, even if it means a boost for the Huns. We are completely dominant over the rest of Scotland, so much so that we could flex our muscles and cripple them all for as long as we like. It’s not that crazy to think we might look at other ways to improve the domestic product. That’s our best hope at improving our European aspirations after all.
There is feck all chance Rodgers and /or Celtic are advising anything or are involved in this Zombie Circus with Gerrard.

Behind the scenes over the years Celtic have been held back as to when and where they had hoped to go by default association with the "Old Firm" pish - We are striving to ensure we don't go there with this new club.

There is a hun scenario here pandering as ever to the hordes as they have to get the season tickets sold - They are trying a MON/Rodgers ploy as far as that goes - McAllister is an out and out hun - Dalglish I would not be surprised about - Much as I loved him as a player, he is a total :carrot: of a person and won't do anything that doesn't tend to try and improve his bank balance whether as an Adviser,Consultant or whatever.

Even before this circus he was talking about how much he loved the job and it's perfect for him. He had no reason to sign that 4 year deal other than seeing it through till 10IAR, yet every time some EPL job comes up people will have him for the off. Definitely a bit more spice for next season :)

Finally Brendan gets a chance to silence the scousers.

Be in no doubt there are a large number down there who abhor our manager and equally adore the wrinkly forehead that slipped and cost them the title.

They will be behind him.
The idea that Rodgers will beat Gerrard to win the league in Scotland and all the Scousers in England will go “ah shampoo, that’s us telt” or whatever it is Scousers say is, at best, bizarre.

There goes my plan for the Scouse 2019 convention then.

As with the last 2 seasons, say absolutely nothing & let the Huns talk pish all summer.

We’ve been guilty of switching on & off this season, but this will bring about renewed focus from Brendan to the players to the board.

Agreed.

If we even threatened to become a little complacent, this will focus Rodgers completely.

There's no way he'll want to be bested by his former player.

Let's not forget, they don't have a single player who would get into our team. So, they can invest and buy players all they want but even if we don't make any moves in the summer, they'll still be easily at arms reach.

That said, I expect this to give us a nice wee kick, and I think Brendan will love this development. Looking forward to us handing out our first skelping next season, maybe to the tune of Idiot Child at 90 minutes.

This the same Dalglish that went to all the Hillsborough funerals? Aye, what an effing carrot. Must've made a fortune.
