Brendan is a fabulous manager and our first team squad is excellent too. We are living in halcyon days. We are all living the dream.

However, I have two concerns about getting to the next level and staying there. I believe we should be bringing in world class/top European youth coaches. There's no reason why we should not be able to develop a great crop of youngsters, equal to the best in England or elsewhere. I also worry slightly about the quality of our recruitment when the new head of recruitment had spent his previous three years at Sunderland. Doesn't make him as bad as the team, but it raises doubts. Our recruitment has generally been of a very decent quality for a few years. I just hope that we keep improving in this area too.

Should have invested everything we had available in youth development the moment we knew the top division was going to be hun-less for a few years. That was the best opportunity we'll ever have had to redraw the map and embarked on a few seasons of Colin Kazim Richards and Carlton Cole instead.

I’m impressed at how pissed off I still am about the treading water years.

Chelsea are growing angry with Brendan Rodgers over a third loan that is turning sour under the club’s former reserve team manager and has put a black mark against any faint hopes he may harbour of succeeding Antonio Conte.

Rodgers won his second Scottish Premiership title with Celtic at the weekend, but his handling of Charly Musonda, who was not even in the matchday squad for the 5-0 thrashing of Rangers, has not gone down well at Stamford Bridge.

Musonda was sent to Celtic on an 18-month loan until the end of next season, but could well cut his stay in Scotland short after starting just two league games so far. The 21-year-old has not started a game since February 18. (telegraph)

Made up filler - Not a quote in sight - They won't be happy about Musonda but the Manager angle they have tagged on is made up bollocks.

And as you say - Oh dear!!! :) :rocker:

What were the other two loans that turned sour? I’m guessing those would be deals going way back to when he was at Swansea?

Edit: I’ve just checked and the players were Borini and Josh McEachran. Borini did well enough under Rodgers that he signed him for Liverpool. McEachran has proven that he was never good enough for the Premiership so Rodgers called that one right. Can’t see Chelsea holding grudges over such average players though.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers says he is "delighted" for Steven Gerrard, ahead of them locking horns in the Scottish Premiership.

"I’m delighted for him. He has obviously had an incredible playing career. He wanted to manage and wanted to coach and obviously he now has the opportunity to do that.

"I’m sure he will be looking forward to his first job and happy that he now enters into my world of coaching and managing.

"He will have an idea in relation of how he wants to work. But certainly as a guy he was ultra professional. He had incredible quality as a player and, like I say, that level of professionalism he had in his career - that’s what made him the great player he was. So, I’m sure he will take those attributes into his management.

"Only over time will you see the identity of his team and how they want to work and how they want to play.”

From the BBC. Do I detect the slightest bit of shade in the "welcome to my world" part of this very gracious statement?

Aye but there is every chance Gerrard will be out the door in nine months when it all goes arse over tit.

:lolhuns:

Brendan will only be on the way to eight by then when they are forced to throw the keys to Jonatan Johansson.

He has been stamping on their throats since the day he arrived - Would be nice if he applied even more pressure on their throats now and throttled their very last breath of their miserable, bigoted, poisonous, existence completely out of them.
