Are Brendan and Gerrard close at all since working with each other in Liverpool? If so, I’m going to start winding up the Few Huns I know and tell them Brendan Rodgers just helped install his own rival manager.

Seems plausible to me. Rodgers could think that Stevie G could cut his teeth in the SPL, so asks him if he would consider it.

Couple of phone calls get made via a man and mutant.

Huns being desperate for some exposure and to feel relevant again jump at the idea.

There is no effing way that Gerrard and Rodgers have not spoken long before the public heard about this.

I’m sure they barely tolerated one another when Rodgers first went to Anfield. But they seem to have become a bit more friendly since then, at least as far as public appearances go.

Like your mammy becoming your pal rather than an adversary when you move out.

Gerrard seems to have been a pundit on a number of Celtic games since Brendan took over.

As if Rodgers was “a little surprised” to hear about this.

If Rodgers is in any way undecided about his future, I’d guess that Gerrard going to the huns will ensure that we don’t need to look for a new manager.

Rodgers will stick around and take his former captain under his wing.
