My only concern is whether we can start bringing in decent players. It really is the only question mark over Rodgers so far, and given the work needed this summer I hope it’s a lot better than what he has done so far.

It could be that DD and Lawwell may even prefer Brendan to move on if they know someone who can do the same job for less money. I thought DD’s comments weee strange, it did seem to signal an acceptance that he has already done enough for DD.
I`m pretty sure that Lawwell and Desmond would much prefer that Brendan stayed

But I agree regarding Desmonds comments re Brendan and the Arsenal vacancy at the end of the season.

Its almost as if hes resigned to the fact that we`ll lose him to a top job in England, I thought Desmond should have told the press to bolt when asked about Rodgers` availability.

So Lennon is coming back then? That’s the conclusion from today’s game?

I think he's off in summer, I said as much a few weeks back, been pretty obvious from early on given players effort in a number of games.
:cuckoo:
How would you explain up and down form this season?

How Id answer that: Fatigue from number of games & the impossible previous seasons high to meet or beat.
Complacent. Within the squad/ training. Within the domestic league; just because you can take 20 seconds to play a pass doesnt mean you should take 20 seconds to play it. Been guilty of that most of this season.

We need to get over the line soon as possible & give the players the rest they deserve. Its also down to us to supply the drive and competition from within the squad.

Posted earlier about Rodgers maybe seeing a finishing line here and think a lot of the support are now coming round to that maybe being the case, not just off the back of one bad result or a bumpy campaign overall or attractive jobs becoming available. There is a expiry date of Celtic managers - they're very lucky if they're the ones to call it. He'll get to call it & maybe 2/ 3 years up here is plenty for him, 10IAR or years left on contract saying otherwise. How much higher can his stock in England go? Not much more & the qualifiers are just going to get harder.

I do hope he's working & planning for the medium term, thats what we need.

Very difficult to win away from home when you play the second half with 10 men.

I doubt Rodgers will end up at Arsenal but I also don't think he'll be here for the next 3 seasons so he won't be here for 10 in a row.

Next season will be a big test for Rodgers - even by conservative estimates, with departures and signing failures, we may need to replace 4 first team starters. Our transfer dealings over the summer will need to be very astute and also very quick given Champions League qualifiers.

DD will know exactly how happy Brendan is here and said what he did because he has no worries about him going anywhere, I get the feeling that some fans can't believe he is here and will be off the first chance he gets....just look back on his interviews and accept that he is in his dream job, he is very happy with his life up here, he is here for ten in a row.

Mental to think that (if) when we do 10 in a row, we could do it with four different managers.

Not sure you'd get that in any other part of planet football.

Such is life in Scottish Fitba.

But like everything, being in the know a transfer, a done deal that bit him one on the arse, but at least he had the inside track as we all know with transfers it’s a funny old game.....

He's doing very well at hibs - there are no doubt still some issues but he was interviewed when BR got it and he has coped with job before

Clarke has done v well but there are issues there to

Strachan also out of work :ph43r:

Most likely br won't get either arsenal or Chelsea but reminiscent of mon with Leeds

Got it wrong today. Not managed to win 5 games in a row domestically this season.
First since Burns in 94/95 to be unable to pull 4 league wins in a row either. We're incredibly inconsistent.

Recruitment this season has been shocking and nowhere near good enough. With our resources, we should have won the league weeks ago.

It’s not just the defenders/ keeper that needs addressed, it’s how we defend. Wide open, easily isolated and wedded to playing out even when it’s not really on.
It’s the old percentages / pragmatism argument again I suppose

I was unhappy with his pre-game interview today. For the first time, I thought I detected a bit of complacency before the one game on the calendar no Celtic team should ever be complacent about, not with that Hibs manager in charge anyway.

Having said that, Brendan has been brilliant since he arrived, occasional mistake notwithstanding, and is going nowhere anytime soon.
