Whether or not he is here for 10 in a row is always going to be up for debate.

However, he certainly is planning for it, as of a couple of weeks ago.

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
Why would he be a shoe-in given that the board picked Ronny D over him last time he was interviewed. Mind you i would have no complaints about Stevie getting the gig
He’s certainly a better fit than Gary Loake.
Clever :theclap:

There was a fella in an arsenal club polo shirt sat next to me on the plane up from London this evening. :ph43r:
You get a look at his WhatsApp?
On reflection I think it could have been Per Mertesacker.

If Rodgers goes, which I think it unlikely, then we’d go for Clarke I think.
Agree, Clarke would (rightly) be a shoe-in for it.
Not that I want to encourage this blase chat about BR’s seemingy inament (aye, meant it) departure, but does Steve Clarke strike you as a Celtic manager? Done well at Kilmarnock in the 6 months he’s been there, but it is only 6 months, and while there seems to be a general consensus he was harshly treated at West Brom, he didn’t exactly set the heather on fire, either, or at Reading.

Ability aside (and I’m certainly not writing him off on that front), does he have the character for the job? A Celtic manager needs balls of steel at the best of times; he needs to capable of dealing with an aggressively hostile media who are already plumbing new depths of scuminess as we get closer to 10, and being a West of Scotland, (maybe) Celtic supporter is not enough, in itself, to ensure he would cope with that. He might be brimming with charisma and self belief inside, but hides it behind a dour, mumbling, unimpressive demeanour. He’s no BR, Lenny or MON, for sure...
I think he’s potentially a very good manager, if not already. Like pretty much every manager (including the three mentioned) he’s taken a wrong turn at some point in his career, but I think he’d be fine for us.

He was my preference the last two times, and although I was surprised and delighted we got Rodgers, I’m not sure we’d be able to aim that high next time - and find someone at that level willing to come to us.

It’s all blasé chat just now, of course. ;)

Caught again by a team of journeymen who were always going to work their balls off. He’s no fool so a lot of that must be down to the players

Nope.

His fault, he didn't recruit well enough in the past 2 windows.

Our defence is being patched up from week to week, with players playing out of position regularly.

Formation being tinkered with to make do with what we have and it clearly doesn't work most of the time.

That's down to his transfer dealings.

Starting to think Brendan may need some outside advice on his player recruitment. Compper, Musonda and Henry not looking like the greatest January business we’ve ever done.

For the umpteenth time this season he’s unable to motivate the players. Apart from last week there’s been no sign of an improvement, some results and performances this season are totally unacceptable. The fact the league is still not mathematically over yet is incredible. He apparently got what he wanted in January, surely that shows he’s not intent on building a side, just going along with the usual players who are getting worse all the time. Can only think he’s for the off.

One game to win the league and the other team wants it twice as much. Damning.

Isn't a large part of the relentless building from the back we do on the pitch and in training so that when you do come up against a hard pressing team you can break the press, turn their midfield and in theory you have a counter attack? Any time teams do it to us we'll cough it up around our box every time. We are shampooe at it.

He picks the players. Nobody forced him to put Gordon back in over Bain. He chose to do that. Nobody forced him to play (or sign) Hendry or to start Boyata every week.

The entire team was shocking today but those 3 really stood out.

That's a horrendous stat  performances in the league next season need to be improved remarkably. There's no doubt we can raise it for any of the big games and then we follow it with a downer.

His recruitment would need to see significant improvement too cause this team needs at least 4 or 5 fresh faces

I think he's off in summer, I said as much a few weeks back, been pretty obvious from early on given players effort in a number of games.

Brendan has said Rogic was our best player today.

Didn't he flog the first goal with his back to goal failing to be strong enough, flog a chance in the first 5 minutes through a slack pass on the edge of his own box, miss a clear cut chance in both halves and send a short passback to the keeper that could have made it 3-0?

It really worries me when the manager says stuff like this because it makes me wonder what I am watching.

He also said Brown was ill but decided he wants to play. That's fine, but if he's not up to it physically then he shouldn't be starting out of sentiment. He failed to track Slivka's run for the second goal.

Brendan won't get anywhere further with a blind spot to his favourites.

After least season Brendan was probably expecting more from some players who have let him down to varying degrees. I'd also argue our fixture list is beyond reasonable and accumulative season on season.
