The four year deal was a commitment, otherwise, he would have stayed on the rolling deal.

Brendan is going nowhere and Dermot knows it. He was paying Brendan the ultimate respect by saying publicly he's his own man. What was he supposed to do -- answer for the manager by saying he's going nowhere? How would Brendan (or indeed anyone else) feel about that?

It was a perfect answer to a reasonable question. The fact that some people might not appreciate nuance isn't a factor with the likes of Desmond.
100% my view.
The gaffer is staying..not my opinion but his.

FFS 2/3 days ago he said so himself.

He will do 10 then bolt.

Nothing certain in football all the same but he will honour his contarct then go.

Rodgers won't be going to Arsenal because he's not a big enough name. They'll be looking for a top European manager.

I don't think Brendan will get either the Chelsea or Arsenal jobs. Having said that I've always thought he is likely to have a gentleman's agreement with the club if a big English or European job came along.
Timing of this speculation is not ideal as our friends in the press will no doubt use it to take the shine off our championship win and hopefully double treble.

C'est la vie.

I'm new. Be gentle.
Brendan won't be going anywhere. This is his dream job, his passion for the club is enormous, we're exceptionally well run, exceptionally supported, and writing ourselves more entries into the history books.

He's going naewhere :)

It’s up to Brendan how long he stays with us.I would expect that he would be here for 10 in a row and certainly wouldn’t leave for an Everton but if Arsenal offered him the job then yes I would be worried.

I don't think Arsenal will be interested in Brendan Rodgers. Not because he isn't good enough but because on the back of the Wenger out campaign - the board are going to have to attract someone who unites the fanbase and Rodgers certainly won't do that. For reasons I'm not entirely sure of - he is still a figure of fun down there who apparently just got lucky at Liverpool by having Luis Suarez. We know how good the man is. We know he is a manager in the very top, top bracket who has worked wonders at our club. But not a single thing he has achieved at Celtic will cut any ice with the self entitled EPL snobs who see the Scottish League as tinpot that anyone could win. They don't want him it's as simple as that - and more fool them.

My biggest fear is Spurs. I think if Pochettino is every swayed to PSG or Madrid or even Man U. Then Bredan would be top of their list.

Chelsea, Arsenal and City etc will all go for a bigger name.

Rodgers is perfect for Arsenal. If they can't get Simeone he should be top of the list.
Fortunately I think he will want at least one more crack at Europe with us and then he'll end up staying for the 10

is that Tuchel guy still job hunting? if so it will be him. People like Sean Dyche must wonder what they've got to do to get an offer from the big 6.

He's a right weird character and his team hardly encapsulates Wengerism.

Play decent football?

Tuchel is the favourite for the PSG job.

I hope Arsenal appoint Tuchel. Because he's not Brendan Rodgers... and it would mean QSG signed Wenger instead.

Arsenal and Chelsea (probably) jobs up for grabs in the summer, I think Tuchel, Enrique, Emery (if he is sacked by PSG) and Ancelotti would probably be ahead of BR in the queue. Pardew is out, obviously, as he will be lured by the Huns job :rocker:

Unfortunately that blokes face just doesn't fit.
The only real bridge job to that in England is Everton and that appears very much the poisoned chalice.

Like others I doubt Arsenal will go near Rodgers. This, however, is the beginning of the end. He won’t be here for ten in a row.
