Seeing as we sell the club as a stepping stone to players, I don't get the issue.
Maybe a tad too honest but who cares.

If he is going to leave I'd rather it was at a time when there were replacements available.

As my preferred choice is Stevie Clarke, I think we'd be fine.

I'd rather Brendan stayed though.
There are as you say good replacements available

If he stays and is up for it ideal if not and we get good compensation so be it

DD was stating the obvious and i'm sure the club is prepared for all outcomes

I doubt Rodgers is on Arsenal’s list for their new manager, however, if he was, he’ll take it if offered.

Hopefully Brendan will stay for at least 10 in a row.

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
good. they would have written it anyway.
That's true but DD's comments, however hypothetical, have added substance to what would have been idle speculation. I doubt BR will be in Arsenal's plans but DD should be media savvy enough not to answer hypothetical questions.
Unless he knows it’s not hypothetical...

He signed a 4 year deal because he wanted to, he wants to be the man who clinches 10IAR and leave a real legacy behind, not run off the win the 4th place trophy in England. eff arsenal, eff the EPL, he's ours.

carrots are mental. BR is here for 10iar. put ma next wage on it.
Somebody take a note. 8 quid on Brendan for 10IAR
Aye, paid monthly tae!

Serious note but the mans Celtic daft, he's literally quoted last month as saying Celtic is his dream job and the happiness it brings him is worth more to him on a personal level than the crazy money offered by Prem clubs could ever be. The people who think he's away to arsenal are the same people that will tell you Tierneys off first chance he gets. Celtic are in these Bhoys blood, fans like me and you. And they're here for the 10. And what a effing day that will be. :chuffed:

I could be wrong of course and he could eff off down to England with a cigar in his mouth and pound signs in his eyes. But I doubt it.

DD should have been a helluva lot more careful with his comments

He has gifted a headline to the media.

Naive ? Foolish ? Effin stupid ?
'indifferent'or 'unaware' would by my guess. DD's unlikely to see much of the fuss stirred up in the goldfish bowl that is the scottish MSM.
It's mostly just a few fans that will get worked up by DR headlines.

Cant see BR being a target for Arsenal. They'll go for an explayer or someone with better European experience.

Brendan is going nowhere and Dermot knows it. He was paying Brendan the ultimate respect by saying publicly he's his own man. What was he supposed to do -- answer for the manager by saying he's going nowhere? How would Brendan (or indeed anyone else) feel about that?

It was a perfect answer to a reasonable question. The fact that some people might not appreciate nuance isn't a factor with the likes of Desmond.

Spot on. "I don't think you can put handcuffs on anybody if they want to go to a club as good as Arsenal. It will be Brendan's decision and Brendan's decision only." He's allowed Brendan to stay in the driving seat for his entire stay here. He's quietly letting Brendan and the rest of Scotland know that he is the boss.

Dermot’s dress sense is a bigger concern than his answer to the question on Brendan
