Aye, surely you'd shoehorn Murdoch or Jinky in there? And Dalglish, while we're tinkering. And Paul Elliot

No chance, I loved big Pierre, just wish we had a chance to see him and the King as a partnership

Rodgers is probably the right guy for that job but there's no way their fans will accept going cap in hand to Scottish Football for their next manager given how long they've waited to get rid of Wenger, it'll be a big name from Spain, Italy or Germany

And they want to win the English title and be a top four finish every season at least. Very difficult to achieve these days with Mourinho, Guardiola and Klopp all managing in the same league now. Added to that is a reborn Tottenham and Chelsea are always in about it.

Big jobs in the big leagues - in my opinion - don't have the attraction they used to. Anyone who takes the gig knows they'll be sacked in a few months unless they achieve instant success. Look at Conte. He won the league only last season and now they're going to dump him. I can't see Klopp lasting very long either unless he wins the CL.

It's brutal.

Agree, Arsenal will probably go through a few managers in the next few years as they try and find something that works now, the only thing that saved Wenger was his longevity, failure to qualify for the CL will probably cost a new manager his job

There'll be plenty who don't view that as a bad thing, but the best of all worlds.

I.e. Conte getting a nice big initial contract from Chelsea, and no doubt bonuses for winning the league.

Then in the second season while royally ballsing it up knowing that all he has to do is sit tight and there'll be a massive, multi million pound pay off, and limited damage to his reputation.

Then off to the next big job. Ancelotti did it for years until his Bayern stint basically tarnished him.

Dermot just on saying he won't stand in Brendan's way if he gets offered the Arsenal gig.

Been a fun ride :( ;)

Agreed.

Think their fans will demand a bigger name than the supposed failed Liverpool manager and a guy who has lead a team in a pub league to a few domestic trophies. (Their view, not mine I should add!)

Snobby winkers that they are

Was just a throwaway comment by the SSN presenter saying that DD said that BR is a great person and deserves to be the bookies favourite and he wouldn't stand in his way if he wanted to take it.

Highly doubt it'll come to that tbh.
