Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
He was a yard offside -- the useless lump was born offside. It was an easy decision for the linesman. Stop making stuff up.
Yard offside yer arse

Yard or inch he was still offside. The shock is that he was flagged for it.

We have seen both these guys play well at times and also horrendously badly. They will not suddenly become consistent and reliable. Brendan must replace both if we are to move forward.
That's my argument as well. Both need replaced.

As, Lubo once said (or was it Dr Jo?)..."back home, we have a saying: everyone is a general after the war...."

Well done Brendan. Your team overcame two utterly howling defensive calamities (1st goal and red card) to give, for me, the best of all our Sevco victories.
Victory has a thousand fathers, defeat is an orphan.

We beat the huns with ten men to seal the league title in their own midden while being cheated by the officials.

Can we not just effin enjoy that without finding some tortuous reason why Brendan must do better or how much we were torn apart by some utter nobody who in reality did eff all in the game?

Eff sake.

If we beat Motherwell with 10 men and lost 2 goals due to defensive frailties we would be moaning about it. Sevco are no more relevant than Motherwell

I'm not about to scroll back and check, but I'd hazard a guess the last Motherwell post-match thread isn't at 85 pages.

It was a very resolute performance in a hostile atmosphere with just about nothing going in our favour. Nobody's denying the goals we lost were very poor, but it's a disservice to the character of the team/manager to try and downplay the result on Sunday.

Fair comment. I think the disappointment in the performances of our 2 main centre halfs is worth discussion but probably should not be in this thread because it does as you say detract from what was a very enjoyable outcome on Sunday

Agreed  In terms of defence, on the plus side thought Hendry at RB and Ajer moving in one made a huge difference.

Rodgers himself said we didn’t defend their punts into the channels well enough. No harm in discussing it.

Ffs I’m old enough to remember stein getting it. Nothing wrong with debating a managers strengths and weaknesses

Brendan is an exceptional manager and as a previous poster mentioned, we all make mistakes and so does he, but not many. He is the best thing to happen for us in years and we should savour every moment he is with the club. People moaning about starting line -ups, well fair enough, we all think we are would be managers, but this guy is with these players day in and day out and can see who is ready, who is fragile, who is up for it etc. If some of his selections on match day play badly or make horrendous mistakes ala - Boyata - that is not something Brendan can control. That is simply life, I can feel shampoo hot one day go out and make a right arse of my day - players do to. We won and we won well on Sunday, if we hadn`t made mistakes at the back, it would probably have been 3 or 4 nil. Let`s stop questioning the strengths of an exceptional manager just because players aren`t responding as well as they did last season. There are lots of reasons, so many injuries this year and more importantly...so many games...let`s not forget that we have played far more games than anyone in Scotland and as Brendan said, Rangers have been on holiday, one game a week, maybe two now and again, but lets see how they cope under pressure. They didn`t, we did, say it all. Thank you Brendan for great decisions and for Scot Brown - a monster of a player :rocker:
totally agree

It’s not discussing strengths and weaknesses though, it’s a race to the miserable bottom to see who can find the worst angle on a historic result.

It’s the joyless cliches who come out with this pish just to stay in character. I’m well aware they’re nothing new.

Not many managers are going to win at Pittodrie and Ibrox with ten men. And not even seeing games out. Scoring with ten men.

:theclap:
Yep yet he is still being criticized. Mental stuff.
We have an exceptional manager but even he makes daft decisions just like the rest of us.

This is a discussion board, do you the content to be just delusional blind faith and moonbeams?
No. I am not saying that at all.

The criticism of Rodgers has been way over the top this season. In my opinion.

You could argue that but the fact that sevco are second in the table -albeit distant second -whereas Motherwell aren’t even in the top 6 says that’s not true.

Some of the ‘criticism’ of the manager has a certain stench about it IMO.
