First manager to win 4 in a row at Mordor. Martin O'Neil and Jock Stein did 3 in a row. A fair achievement irrespective of the calibre of the opposition. He has certainly bagged a few records

I think he got it wrong at the back today, but pitching in boyata was understandable. But after the sending off he sorted us out in very quick time.
Tbf i assume he wasnt wanting to pitch in commper and bain for sevco debuts and tried for a defense that had played together before in front of bain. sadly boyata was way off it

Some shout :worthy: putting on Edouard and going for it against the feckers when we had gone down to ten men.

He despises the bastards as much as the rest of us (excepting the kds lurkers :lolhuns: :hahaleft: :carrot: :haharight: ) and by feck he was showing how happy he was today.

Good news we have another 2 games to truly destroy them....but this time we will have Boyata, Armstrong, Rogic all match fit...Bain , Hendry, Edouard, Ntcham have some experience of what is involved....we also have Compper, Musonda & Griffiths to add more pain.

Murty had the number of his initial selection (particularly with Boyata not being fit/a footballer) but he won the game with his changes and boldness after the red. Well and truly earned his bread yesterday.

2 interviews I heard after the game today.

1) Broony. When asked how going a man down changed things, he said that it had been worked on before the game (itself a get it right up ye moment to the Scottish refereeing fraternity) and that the manager had a plan to play to if that happened.

Half an hour later, I heard this interview on Radio Clyde...

2) Scott Bain. When asked about losing the first goal so early, he replied that the manager had spoken to the team beforehand about the possibility of this happening, and what should be done if it did. There was no panic, he said, we had planned for this possibility.

Now that must be part of what makes Brendan such a great manager. He plans for all eventualities, and this, sometimes, can be the difference between an ignominious defeat and a splendid, against-the-odds victory.

Happy days. :)

More than earned his corn today.

Wonderful strategic game management, despite a slew of adverse factors.

We’re fortunate to have him.

I just hope the fans questioning his decisions will understand that he knows better.

At 2-2 the huns are going for victory and what does our manager do? He calmly sends on a forward who wins us the game.

Possibly on this thread, but this has been mentioned before. Goes 2 upfront when a man down so the opposition can't take a defender off.

Very Mourinho esque with the working on a player being sent off

Our game of the season, regardless of what happens in the semi final. Aside from ten men winning the league back in the 70's, is there anyone on here that can think of a better and more satisfying win at Ibrokes?

Nothing comes close in my lifetime.

Brilliant. The default so often is 4-4-1 with 10 men.

Just before the Dawn

I have to say, when he was making the second substitution yesterday at 2-2, I'm expecting another midfielder/defender to come on.

Genuine "WTF " moment when we launch Edouard at them.

Took a proper set of bollocks in the circumstances to make changes that would push them back , but wow, what a pay-off.

Stay for the Ten Brendan, there's a whole lot more fun to be had.
