Leonardo Jardim, Thomas Tuchel...I fully expect Arsenal to go for a bigger name than Brendan Rodgers.

It's lazy journalism and anything to suggest the hoops in risks helps.

Did anyone listen to Gary Nev on Joey Barton (wink) podcast?

Nev made a point about taking over at Valencia the schedule was immediately very busy. He almost got no time on the training pitch with the players as it was Midweek/Weekend matches right away. He said this really effected preparations and his plans for the team (among other things). It made me rethink Brendan's predicament at Celtic and give me some sympathy for this seasons performances.

It's nothing new to us, it's been tough but theres been too many dull football and poor results. As long as we win the treble it will be an incredible achievement but I'd say BR has been very unlucky with injuries, it's stopped us getting any sort of settled side rather than our schedule. We played 9 games last December, won 8 and drew away to Man City.

It’s impossible to be a successful football team and not have a busy schedule. It’s why we have an enormous squad.

Arsenal will review Arsene Wenger's position this summer — with the prospect of ending the Frenchman's 22-year reign now emerging as a genuine option.

The Gunners have already started compiling a list of potential candidates to replace Wenger if time is called on his tenure at the end of the season.

Monaco boss Leonardo Jardim, Germany manager Joachim Low, Celtic head coach Brendan Rodgers and Manchester City coach Mikel Arteta are among the early contenders.

Sources insist Wenger, whose position is under more scrutiny following Sunday's feeble Carabao Cup final defeat by Manchester City, will fight to see out the final 12 months of his contract at the very least.

But Sportsmail understands there is growing support among Arsenal's power-brokers for Wenger to leave north London at the end of this season.

The end-of-season review will be key as to whether Wenger is given the chance to stay for another campaign. This leaves him facing serious questions about what has so far been a below-par season.

Much will depend on whether Wenger can lead the club back into the Champions League, although achieving that feat will not be the only factor. A route back into Europe's elite looks unlikely through the Premier League as the Gunners are currently 10 points adrift of fourth-placed Tottenham. So Arsenal's most likely way back is by winning the Europa League, although they face a daunting, two-legged clash against AC Milan in the next round.

Qualifying for the Champions League next season would provide Wenger with a bargaining tool in his attempts to stay. At the moment, however, he is facing the virtually impossible task of arguing that the team has improved after he was awarded a two-year extension last summer — particularly after they broke their transfer record twice in the space of seven months.

The club's hierarchy has changed significantly this season with chief executive Ivan Gazidis appointing head of recruitment Sven Mislintat, head of football relations Raul Sanllehi and contract negotiatior Huss Fahmy.

These new faces have reduced Wenger's control at the club, particularly with regard to recruitment. And they will have an influence during the summer review and the appointment of Wenger's eventual successor. However, majority shareholder Stan Kroenke will still have the final say on whether Wenger leaves.

The four men who have caught the eye of the Arsenal regime are reportedly: Leonardo Jardim, because Wenger says all the greatest managers in football history have won the French league with Monaco; Jogi Löw, because Mesut Özil says he’s very understanding; Brendan Rodgers, because it took Bayern Munich two matches to beat the Queen’s Celtic by a combined score of 5-1; and Mikel Arteta, because a three-man shortlist might look lazy.

I listened to it.

What I got from it was he was an amateur way out of his depth who they took a risk on because they were skint. It made me rethink Murty's predicament at the Huns but gave me very little sympathy towards their plight.

They aren't bigger names than Brendan Rodgers.

I do fully expect they will go for someone like that though because top EPL clubs are too arrogant to hire the Celtic manager. The same reason they don't sign players from us. They let Southampton do it first then they spend about 4 or 5 times what they would have had to spend if they signed them directly from us.

But talks have taken place between Celtic and Dundee and the rearranged fixture could be played next midweek.

SunSport understands that Dundee have offered to travel to Glasgow on Tuesday or Wednesday next week, with Premiership chiefs believed to be happy to rubber-stamp either of those dates.

Don't see arsenal trying to get Rodgers. Their fans would go mental. They will want a big name.

Rodgers is a big name. Only 7 letters jokes incoming

Speaking of BR, if he says "Browny" one more time I'm officially starting the Rodgers GTF CSC.
