Long way to go before he merits mention in the same breath as MON.

When you consider the money MON had to buy Sutton hartson Lennon and Thompson, plus he had Larsen, then you realise how much Brendan is achieving on a shoestring. I wouldn’t be surprised if he wins more for us than MON with a lot less money, admittedly up against a non EBT hun team.

We are going through a bit of a dip and he will sort it out as soon as the injured guys come back into the team. He knows what we need to buy and his comments during these bad results have been spot on, he doesn’t hide and pretend the performances have been OK, he points out what was bad, without slagging the players too much. There is plenty of numptys will do the slagging for him.

All true, but MON took us from a low ebb, against a ridiculously strong hun team, and not only overturned them, smashed them out the water.

Everything we have experienced since, started with MON.

Hopefully BR goes on to achieve more but (here comes the card) as someone who lived through the 90'S, he won't eclipse MON for me.

He has a long way to go before matching what MON did, let alone being considered the better manager.

Comparing Rodgers to MON is nonsense.

Totally pointless as well.

Rodgers faces a real test for the first time. Massive game today.

None of his treble winning games a real test? He’s won everything domestically and most likely will again. He’s had many big days . Today is just another

Aye, getting us into the CL without a striker was a bit of a test. Going behind in the cup final was a test. Coming back from a doing v Barca to play the way we did against Man City was a test.

There have been plenty of tests and he's passed all of them, domestically at least, and sometimes in Europe too, bringing in the kind of cash that has us able to keep our best players while still (unfortunately, it could be argued given the back line) sitting on large pile.

I'd say that given the short break last year, the even shorter break this coming summer, we have tried to manage games and players more this year, whereas last year we went in for the kill, still trying to score more goals even when two or three up.

But we also managed to win quite a lot of games by a single goal and it's those games this year that have turned into draws. Hopefully with just the league and cup to focus on now, we can kick on.

Starting with these carrots today. Fitba the effin faces off them Celtic.

Once the invincible treble became a real possibility every game was a “real test”. He passed every single one.

A Shoestring

:ponder:

He has a larger wage budget than ever before.

I thought we had the money there but Rodgers got everything he wanted - which suggests he wanted these players on the lower level of cost? Obviously that might be completely wrong but to suggest he has a shoestring budget is ridiculous - even relatively speaking around domestic rivals

Pre transfer window Brendan was quoted as saying January would be like a revolving door.

Obviously that never transpired.

I’d be interested to know the reasons why Not when it was predicted by the manager

Weve heard that line trotted out countless times over his time here, and 90% of the time domestically he’s dealt with it and we’ve got the result
