Rodgers tactical philosophy. Think we can safely say Commons wont be a part https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dsd39roJzu4
Interesting clip that. I think 4-3-3 is his preferred option but as he says, if you've not got the players for it then 4-2-3-1.
Rogic can "control" the tempo but doesnt get up and down the pitch. Bitton is the same, albeit he plays deeper. Brown can get up and down but cant control a game, passing wise. Johansen similar to Brown. McGregor kind of in between I'd say as his movement and passing have been good when I've seen him centre mid.

With what we've got I'd say either Bitton (Deep) - Brown - McGregor/Johansen in a 4-3-3. Or any of the four centre mids and Rogic in the hole in a 4-2-3-1.

Basically we definitely need a new centre mid   I agree though that Commons just doesn't fit in with that philosophy. He's slow, often has a poor first touch, and he's not known to spray the ball about and dictate the tempo. Would be disappointed if Rogic didn't get some regular game time next season. One of the more positive things about this season in my opinion. Probably all useless and he'll play 2-2-2-2-2 or some such!

Languid Genius

Out of action with food poisoning since Friday night. FFS.

I've decided to look on the bright side. Rodgers on paper should have been well beyond Celtic's means to attract: Premier League promotion, Premier League runner-up, Champions League and Europa League experience. It's all there, everything we could possibly ask for--barring trophies.

More to the point, it's an appointment of real ambition. I've read it comes with a big-boy salary and a 15m pound front-loaded transfer budget. The club is doing everything it reasonably can to get itself ready for the qualifiers and ready to meet the inevitable challenge of newhun.

Looking forward to it, and I wasn't at all sure that would be the case. I'll just have to make sure not to scoff salmonella-riddled chicken the night before the first ball's kicked.
