Lot a seldom seen usernames on this thread haha (says me whose been here under a year tbf)

Nowehere near the time to be talking about sacking him ffs. haha After last season he deserves the chance to put things right. That being said, I heavily criticised Deila for the types of displays that have ben churned out this season, so he is not beyond criticism or questioning. Big few weeks ahead for him and the club.
There is the problem. As we have not yet lost a domestic trophy and progressed further in Europe this season our manager see this as an improvement.

Successful first season at Liverpool almost winning the league, but then team fell to bits after that. Are we seeing the same here, because frankly we have been pish for most of the season except Aberdeen away,Zenit at home and Hearts at home.It would appear that we are regressing badly and god forbid if we don't win the league. If that happens Brendan must go.No excuses.

He surely cant be deluded and naïve enough to think there has been progress this season. Many of our domestic displays have been truly turgid and pedestrian. Our form is a worry and as I says a couple of days ago, if results don't go our way this weekend we are in a title race. One we should win comfortably, but also one we should really have avoided. Need to stop being complacent and get back to basics. Show a bit of hunger.

It's an infested pit.

Getting difficult to tell the Huns from the genuine Celtic fans who have just completely lost their shampoo.
Plenty of newbies strangely resurfaced on the post match thread last night

At the moment we're in a Ronny Deila-esque situation where regardless of opposition you're not confident of actually winning.

Alongside that you have the shambolic recruitment situation and it starts to look like by the end of the season we'll be back to square 1 in terms of progression.
Of course we will be back to square 1 as the last 3 windows have been nothing short of pathetic , with no real ambition shown & none of our major issues addressed. We are exactly where we were a year ago with Roberts & Armstrong & still in dire need of a goalkeeper, right back,2 cb’s & a striker. That the team has regressed this season isn’t really open to debate.
Still don’t understand fans wanting Rodgers sacked tho as we are not capable of attracting better. He’s just not quite as good as many of us first believed.

I think you need to check that with Dempele. It’s almost as if Rodgers isn’t learning from his mistakes.

What is the point of these kind of statements?

While I think we are more than likely to win the title again, I’ve seen far stranger things happen in football.
We may have the best squad of players, but the emotional connection many of our players have to the club is
not the same as it was a year ago. Considering our luck with injuries, and the inevitable refs errors should it look like a title race may occur then you will find a huge amount of Pressure building up pretty quick.

The next few weeks needs calm heads and hard work for anything to be certain.

Sack a manager after an undefeated treble and two CL campaigns. Yep that makes perfect sense.

We're not cutting it in Europe, that's apparent.

But we're not Real Madrid. We don't sack managers for winning trebles and likely consecutive league titles. That's insane.

Europe is a puzzle and I haven't a clue what to suggest because I'm not in any way qualified to.

We can all see that recruitment has been hit and miss. We need good players (forget top players in the European sense) who will turn up at all time, not 50-60% of the time, and go missing in big games.

I like N'Champ. I think there's a player in there, but he's as guilty as anyone. We need steel. We need players with arrogance and mettle who have a will to win that is unrivalled.

We have to buy character as well as talent, because it seems that some of our talented players - Sinclair, N'Champ, Simunovic, seem to go missing when the bar is raised, and it is incredibly frustrating.

When Brendan was appointed if celtic fans were told that in his 2nd season we would have won the league cup,be 9 points ahead in the league before March and had been in the champions league group stages for 2 yrs running I think most celtic fans would be delighted with this.I think he is a victim of his success last season.

Footballers have all the power these days, and we don’t know exactly when they decide they are ready to move on. I’m pretty sure it will be a lot earlier than we would like to know.

Considering the sums of money potentially involved over a career for someone like Dembele, do you really expect him to bust a gut over the next few months?

One more hamstring injury this season will likely wipe out any long term ambition of playing at the Elite end of European football. That would represent a sizeable risk to offset the potential and considering how many top young strikers are coming through in the game, I wouldn’t be surprised if Moussa was slowing down.

So yes, I think a players emotional connection to the club is relevant, especially when they clearly have a long career ahead of them.
