Would have been slaughtered for not making the changes.

Not his fault today. We were lackluster but the ref was at it the whole game. Broke up any momentum we had.
No he wouldn't have been.

I know you never, ever, ever say anything even remotely critical of anything Celtic but come on. He would not have been "slaughtered" for starting our best players. That is absolute nonsense.

I expected changes, but not that many, but what did my box in today were his like for like subs. They were camped in their own half. Take Miller off and play Dembele with Edouard. The two of them were superb together against Hearts. But no, 1 up front and then a left back for a left back. Very strange.

After the CL games and our drawn league matches he did say he had made too many changes in games, something he probably won't do next season. Today I'd have done the same, all in for the Zenit game, if we get through and get a lucky draw no one will remember today's game.

Squad players need game-time.

We've two 'big' games coming up, both domestically and otherwise.

Draw will do me, but i'm no curmudgeon expert.

As for tic-tac's, i'm carte-blanche :suspect:

And no one will give a flying eff if we do the business Thursday.

I will.

We've got a league to win.

If we go through in the Europa League will that mean 2 more weeks rested players and shampooe performances?
Do you seriously think we aren't going to win the league?

Qualifying on Thursday justifies the selection today however we'll then be in the position of possibly more points dropped when he makes wholesale changes for next round of Europa.

He's got to find a balance and the amount of points we've dropped so far, with the amount of games we're also not scoring in - he has to take responsibility for all of that.

9 point advantage over a team that sacked their manager mid season and took 2 months to appoint a youth coach in his place

Absolutely pathetic, much like the majority of league performances this season

No. I think we'll win the league but we are one bad result away from being dragged into something that we shouldn't be anywhere near. We should be sitting comfortably 18-20 points clear right now given all the chances we've had to extend our lead.

If it goes to 6 then feck knows what will happen.

for me there is only two leaders in that team. when brown and KT are missing none of the others step up! seen the team selection and knew points would be dropped.

There’s an argument for too many changes but I’m more concerned with this one up front pish v St effin Johnstone at home. Rogic was taken off far too early and I was bemused when it was a straight swap with Dembele and Edouard. 10 mins to go, looking for a winner and the change is like for like.
We started punting balls up to Dembele and there wasn’t any support within 30 yards of him, who is winning the knockdown?

Baffling decision making from the sidelines start to finish. We need to be more ruthless as per the hertz game.

I just tend to look at the positives but I have been critical of the club and players in the past.

I really think if Rodgers kept the same team minus, Brown then people would start moaning on Thursday.

Both who played in our only two defeats in domestic football this season? :ponder:

The problem isnt one or two players being out of the side its 6-7 and playing players out of position that's the problem.

We still have an awful lot of players out injured so his choices are very limited.
There was a good argument for resting players ahead of Thursday and if we had won it would have been seen as a smart move, no one would have complained if we had won. (ok maybe a few would still have)

BR makes the call on how many changes - today he made a lot but sent out a team he believed should have beaten St J at home and they should have been capable of doing so.
He gambled and it didn't pay off.

It wasn't the changes really it was the performance, have seen much stronger Celtic teams put in similar performances this season, there's a niggling doubt that our first team would have done equally as bad.
We seem to have some kind of acute insipid performance virus that isn't getting any better.

Everyone blaming the changes, but we did the same last season and it didnt affect us. Griffiths and dembele were out for large portions of last season but we still won games. Teams have figured out how to play against us. We're too slow moving the ball forward and too quick to pass the ball back. Todays performance was the same as many other domestically this season. changes or not.

A good performance on Thursday would totally validate today’s line up.

I can't see any reason for the wholesale changes. Wouldn't it be better to play a team as close to Thursday's as possible to bring some continuity and confidence?

There are obvious reasons for and against the changes. Can’t really say whether it’s worked until Thursday night, as that’s obviously the match that caused the changes.

Fear of injuries would be the obvious answer, this season has been a clustereff in that regard.
We have a real chance now of progressing on Thursday,we will only get stronger as crocked players return.

Most of our players appear to get injured in training though.
