I never expected to be thinking we should have done better than 1-0. Absolutely spot on tonight. We really needed one of those European nights again

Absolutely spot on tonight. His starting XI, tactics and subs were all perfect, Mancini had no answer.

He loved that tonight. Getting through this tie would be a huge scalp for him.

Clueless in Europe, but.
I mean, in the games where we're clearly going to be under the cosh it'd be nice if he was a little more pragmatic. Tonight doesn't really change that tbf.

Excellent tonight though. Got it spot on. Kouassi was a ballsy move but worked so well

Glad he stuck by Jozo too. His man management is so effing good.
Most of the predictions were that we’d be clearly under the cosh tonight from a team that spent zillions.

Maybe he set up with exactly the right level of pragmatism to prevent that?
I clearly wasn't talking about tonight. More yer Barca's, PSG's and Bayern's.

Great work tonight from BR and the back room staff. If we could just get a result in Russia, we’d really have something to be proud about and it would kick us on domestically too I think.

We were pragmatic tonight.

Dropping our two luxury players in Sinclair and Musonda in favour of a more robust and hard working Kouassi and McGregor showed as much. Rodgers knew we'd need to do the 'dirty work' and chose the team accordingly.

First time I've ever really seen him react like that, he's usually pretty measured in his celebrations. He lost it for a bit there tonight.

Loved his celebration! He’s looked a little frazzled recently. Brendan must have been delighted to see the team return to playing his way.

Agree with this. The strength of thev3 in midfield and KT runningnthe left side made the difference. A much more sensible set up against quality opposition.
Wasn't happy when I saw CalMac in the team however happy he proved me wrong. I guess that's why Brendan will be in his bed with a golden duvet whilst I'm up,at 5.00am to go to my work.
