Rodgers keeps the same team because the players he's bought aren't as good. That's his fault I'm afraid .

Must have missed Dembele, Sinclair and Ntcham.

Exactly. He has made some excellent signings.

Brendans's book is pretty insightful. An under achiever at school, but a studious, educated determined adult.
Insightful maybe, but it is so poorly written,it’s hard to read.
It's extremely poorly written. I don't read a lot of "sports" books but this certainly wouldn't encourage me to read more if it's typical.
All these books are penned by ghost writers. They tend to sit a dictaphone down then ask hundreds of questions to their subject over the course of a couple of weeks. From there it's pretty much a straight transcript job.

Scott Brown's autobiography was similar. I'm finding the Rodgers one a decent read though. Know very little about his life before Liverpool so it works for me.

I really dont know what folk expect nowadays but its too much obviously.Ghost written to a degree but i deffo hear Brendans voice, maybe because my home is in N Ire but its fairly authentic to me. Wasnt looking for a blockbuster. Is seems to be good collection of his life experiences and his football philosophy. Social media and netflix has ruined some people's perspective. And reading the redtops. Fatboab you seem to be the patient type, give it another go, i found it a leisurely but interesting read, never bored me at all.

I have stuck with it, it’s just poorly written and subsequently difficult to read. I only hear Brendan’s voice in it, I doubt there’s been a ghost writer involved. Surely a ghost writer would know an adjective that isn’t “ brilliant” :ph43r:

Our squad management is something that needs looked at. To paraphrase what I bunged up on Twitter there...

Including Internationals, Kieran Tierney has played more minutes (3,607) in 17/18 than any other outfield player in any European top tier league. That equates to 40 full matches in 169 days, or 1 game every ~4 days since July. Only Craig Gordon (3,780) has played more minutes. Broony (3,220 minutes) and Lustig (3,137 minutes) are next up, before you even get to the first non-Celtic player on the list, Salzburg's Valon Berisha (2,984 minutes) - that's 7 games worth less than Tierney has played. Given what we expect from our full backs - a bombing up and down the wing for 90 minutes - and how important it is to our style of play, Tierney and Lustig have played way too much football so far this season. Incidentally, Forrest (2,678) and Sinclair (2,598) are the next Celtic players.

Mourinho was talking about how tired Lukaku was. Tierney has played 8.5 more games than him so far.
This problem is only going to continue too, so we really need to find a way to manage it better.

Helps highlight the issue for people who don't accept "tiredness" as any kind of justification for our underperformance. We seem to be physically and mentally drained, and 2 weeks in January/4 weeks in June are nowhere near enough of a break. And that's before we even factor in international tournaments.
I'm certain that there's some fans who genuinely think "tiredness" equates to being too out of breath to run enough, and that in turn must be because they're not fit enough. If I do as many press ups as I can, and keep going until my arms just won't lift my weight any longer then they need a period of time before they're back to 100%. Until that time then no matter how hard I try, they just won't work as well as they do when fully rested. It's no different to any other muscle. Not enough rest, and your legs just don't have the same stamina or strength in them no matter how much you want to run.

Our players must be knackered, and the ones highlighted here must be running on fumes at times. If we've had the option of playing Gamboa etc. and chosen not to, the use of the squad is definitely something that BR can improve on.

HE was signed as the man who would one day fill Scott Brown’s shoes.

But now Eboue Kouassi looks set for a loan move out of Celtic.

Not because boss Brendan Rodgers doesn’t think he’s good enough.

But because Hoops skipper Brown has almost made himself impossible to drop since Kouassi’s arrival.

Celts splashed out £2.8million to sign the Ivory Coast midfielder from Russian side Krasnodar on January 3 2017.

At the time Rodgers saw him as Brown’s eventual replacement, and still does.

The Ivorian has made limited appearances for the Hoops

But Kouassi, 20, has made only nine appearances, while Brown continues to hit top form.

It’s why Rodgers is now ready to send him away from Celts for a spell to ensure his development isn’t stunted.

Rodgers said: “Eboue was brought in and he plays a specific role — the Scott Brown role.

“Scott just so happens to be the captain and he’s been brilliant. So it’s been difficult.

“Broony is one I’ve taken out the odd time, and I’ve got Eboue in.

“But there’s no doubt he hasn’t played a lot of games.

“It’s not because of him, it’s because of the form of our skipper

“Kouassi’s one who is brilliant in training. He does everything, and longer-term he will certainly fulfil that role when Scott moves on.

“But while we wait for that we need to ensure Eboue is developing and improving.

“That might mean game-time in the second part of the season. He needs to be playing. We’ll see but you need to weigh it up.”

Rodgers has sent out Ryan Christie to Aberdeen for a second time this term.

Stopper Kristoffer Ajer is showing the benefit of his season at Kilmarnock after breaking into the Hoops team.

Rodgers added: “It’s a bit like Kris Ajer last season. We can keep him about the squad, but he might not play so much.

“If he goes out and plays it will improve him. Ryan Christie is another example.

“Do you keep him around the periphery, or do I send him out to Aberdeen, where he had a nice six months last season?

“In Eboue’s case, I’m not sure of the benefits of him being around if he’s not going to play so much.

“Does he go and play 20-odd games somewhere in the second half of the season then come back in the summer?

“Kouassi had an unfortunate start as he had a difficult first six months. He came in and was ill.

“He was adapting to a new country and a new language.

“But he didn’t need to adapt to the cold as he had been out in Siberia!

“It was about adapting and playing. Kouassi had malaria when he arrived, but he worked hard and had virtually no time off last summer.

“He looked great in pre- season training, but then got injured before we set off for Austria.

“Kouassi was out for a good few weeks, but came back and looked really well. He played well against Sunderland and Lyon.

“You can clearly see the talent he has, but he’s a specific type of player, a defensive midfielder.

“He’s a fantastic player, but it’s one we need to think about.”

The transfer window opening on Monday will see the moves begin to happen.

Rodgers admits he also has a dilemma on what to do with Kundai Benyu.

Young midfielder Benyu was signed from Ipswich last summer, and has impressed in the short spells of action he’s been handed.

Rodgers said: “Benyu is one we’ll gauge. We brought him in as a development player, but he showed up really well in pre-season.

“Do we stick him out on loan, even though he’s just here? Or do we give him six months to get a feel for Celtic, the size of the club, the demands, and the training?

“He’s had all of that with some first team experiences. He’s a good kid, but he also needs to play.”

Danish stopper Erik Sviatchenko has revealed Rodgers has told him he can leave, with German centre-half Marvin Compper coming into the squad.

St Mirren winger Lewis Morgan is expected to sign for Celtic, but he will be loaned back to the Buddies for the rest of the campaign.

Brighton also look likely to table a big money bid for striker Moussa Dembele.

Rodgers admits much of his work this month will be about getting things in place for next season too.

Rodgers added: “January is an important window. Some players may move on, but from my experience here, it’s a window to prepare.

“It’s a World Cup season so if you are looking to prepare for the Champions League, the six month run-in gives you an opportunity to do that.

“It’s about whether the right players are available, but we definitely want to strengthen.

Lewis Morgan netted again in St Mirren's 1-1 draw with Morton

“One or two might move on, in terms of players who need games. But I’d anticipate us to be stronger in January.

“There’s always speculation. With Moussa Dembele there will be a different team every day. That’s the way it is.

“But if you look at the Premier League their window has changed in the summer, and it will close early.

“That puts them under pressure so they are on the lookout for players now, depending on how their teams are doing. There will be a sense of urgency.

“For us, we are pretty much in control. But if there’s a need for a central defender in January then you try to get one.

“We know where we are at domestically, and we know the enormous challenge we face to be competitive in Europe.

“That’s the exciting part, seeing if we can win the league and go for the Champions League again.”

I believe there is room for two defensive midfielders in Europe when we play better sides, particularly away from home.

There's at least room for Brown to be rested. Now the unbeaten run has gone I don't see us being caught in the league. Surely bringing him in for games now makes more sense than papping him out somewhere. If he's seen as the next Brown let him learn from him.

Maybe Brown is insisting he plays every game but that shouldn't be his decision.

The quality of the prose is directly proportionate to the amount of time the author had to complete it. The book was likely commissioned late in the season or possibly even after the Scottish Cup final. Release date was only a few months after.

Rodgers won't have had time to write out hundreds of pages over his two week holiday in the summer amidst getting married and various other things. It's a ghost writer who will have done a couple of lengthy interviews then bashed it out as quick as they could.

Amid all the talk about the players and being tired/jaded etc, I'll bet Brendan Rodgers is also tired. Ask yourself, since he joined the club in May 2016, how much actual time off has he had? Can't be conducive to good management to be "on the job" so intensively for so long.
I sincerely hope this a effing wind up
