In my opinion, we are regressing at an alarming rate.Only game where we have been exceptional was Aberdeen away.We are not playing the same way as last season.Has Brendan been sussed out.He started brilliantly with Liverpool, almost winning the league then becoming very average. We have dropped more points than Ronny Deila did at this stage of the season.Hopefully we are just tired after all the games they have played, plus international call ups but there is no plan B,which Ronny always got slagged off for.Any team that presses us and we collapse.Thoughts?
Good God, were you watching CFC before Brendan arrived!
We are several points clear at the top of the league, in Europe after Christmas, two thirds to a second domestic Treble, yet are regressing badly
We have played about a dozen more games than anyone else in Scotland on the back of a very long season last year with a very short break in the summer.
Teams are working hard to learn how to stop us, we have no Devine right to win every game.
If we were losing games and not making chances, then you could say we were regressing but that’s not happening!
I think the support need the break as much as the players!
As I Said, hopefully it is tiredness and I have watched nearly every game for years .But given our budget compared to all other teams,we should be strolling it.I also said extra games ,but are we better than last season? No in my opinion which is regressing.
You want us to be better than last season? :ponder: That was an exceptional and unique season. We only drew four times and didn't lose at all domestically. Yet, although we have dropped more points this season and lost a game, we are miles ahead in the league, have retained the League Cup, still on course for a historic 2nd treble in a row. Assuming we kick on as I believe we will after the winter break and don't have an off day in the Cup, if we go on to win another treble, are you still going to say we have regressed? Because the only reason I can think for such an opinion at this stage is that we have dropped more points this time. People asked at the end of last season how we would top it because it was as near perfect as you can get. With great difficulty is the answer but it seems to me that is what some people seem to expect. Certainly going by some of the crowd at the game today.

I know Brendan has worked wonders with the team and I really appreciate it as a fan but surely, as fans, we can voice opinions on how we are progressing. I personally think too many players are not reaching the heights they did last season and hopefully the break will recharge their batteries. I also think we need to look at how we cope with teams who have sussed us out at the back and change things around.:

Totally agree that we are regressing at an alarming rate. The currant buns are rotten and they still out played us for long periods today

We have too many players who hide when the going gets tough. Take away Brown, Griffiths and Tierney and we have a team of guys who are not prepared to fight for the jersey at any cost.

I see the Tynecastle high-pressing tactical masterstroke is back again.

We don’t “collapse” as soon as a side presses us high up the park.

Most disappointing thing was the dembele sub. A change of tactics/system was required. We had done nothing in the second half.

He hardly got the better of him. He has had two points off us. I don't want them even getting the snot from my nose but, if we aren't going to win these games then not losing is the next best thing. Had our chances gone in in the first half, the second half would have been very different. The fact that they cheered like they scored whenever they won a throw-in and celebrated a 0-0 like they'd won the league should tell you all you need to know about how close they are to us and they, and Murty, are nowhere near "getting the better" of Brendan or Celtic.

Lost points compared to last season but still in Europe , over all i'd say we're in a slightly better position.
As for recent form , it was the same last year in December , rank at times , with games being won by a baw hair. In mid- December 16 we beat Hamilton Dundee and Partick by only one goal , all at home , it was dire watching.

We're still in Europe due to nothing more than an enormous slice of luck, much like our league form this season, our European form is not at the level it was last year.

McGregor is his blind spot. The boy is positively Shakespearean -- much ado about nothing. Ntcham did more in 15 minutes than McGregor did all game. I don't understand that selection. Truly. :brickwall:

ntcham was outstanding when he came on totally bossed them

Injury and success have conspired to leave us short on options. I , amongst many, thought that we’ d be seeing a regular attack of Rogic, Roberts, Dembele and Sinclair this season. That hasn’ t happened mainly due to injury and the demands of an all conquering season and a half. Players are knackered. That’s why injuries happen, especially muscle injuries which have kept Roberts and Dembele on the sidelines for long periods. Rodgers can’t do much about this as he likes to keep a small , happy squad. Other players have dipped in and out of form with alarming regularity and that too can be put down to big games with little rest in between.
We were poor today in the second half. There’s no denying that, and the manger made selection errors. He probably needs a break too.
Let’s see what happens after Dubai. We should have a couple more new faces, and maybe a couple of unhappy campers out, and we’ll be refreshed and ready to go. Teams haven’t really sussed us out. We’ve simply not played at the level we can. When we come back, we will.
This isn't the first time we've played so many games up to New Year, probably close to as many as last season, so no excuses there.

We look a completely different team from last season. Roberts and Rogic being out was a huge factor today. Thumb-banged by 4 off Hearts then a draw today against Murty's Maestros.

The teams tired? Then play other players.

No way on this earth should we have drew today with the squad we have compared to the insolvents. That lies squarely at the feet of BR.

 Easily our best player when he came on. McGregor has been poor for a while, not by any means the only player toiling but that’s not the point. A few threads in meltdown which is the norm after a result like this. If we had lost it would have been ten times worse and made the Tynecastle debacle look like a dust up at a toddler group.

I'm hoping that BR used that game as a direct message to the board that £3m players won't cut it. It's the only thing that makes sense to what I seen today.
Is that the same £3M players who have tanned them 5-1 on two separate occasions? We should be comfortably beating them today.
So what's changed?

We generally do.

St Johnstone, Huns and Hearts have all had huge success with it.

Aberdeen in the Scottish cup final is really the only time domestically we've stood up to a team really coming after us.
