Another European game at Celtic Park, another defeat.

This can't continue. Bored with the excuses about gaps and money. Rodgers should be doing better.
Jesus.
Not quite sure how that's so outrageous - we have not generally been pot 1 heavyweights in the CL as far as I can remember, though no manager has failed to win in 6 home group games that I can think of.

Has a big job on his hands if he thinks we can go far in the el. That first half was the worst in a long time at cp considering the opposition

Also needs to rethink his squad, reliant on too many players with no one to back them up.

Was that us being "pragmatic" as we certainly were much less open and less creative. Disappointing performance and some awful individual ones too.

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
I agree but none of that amounts to deeming his overall performance so far in Europe as ' very poor'.
1 win in 12 in the Champions league.

You don't consider that poor?
It's not great but given that 8 of those 12 were against near unassailable opposition I can give it a pass for now.

He has rightfully been lauded for our domestic form. He should be questioned for our poor European form.

Its just not good enough. He needs to make demands of the board for better players. If we don't get better we are gonna be cannon fodder for everyone.

PSG, Barca, Man City and Bayern Munich.

Not an unfair characterisation in any way.

We might have improved on Deilas time but when it comes to Europe we’re no better off than we were 12 months ago. Last year we managed to look decent in 3 of the games. This year it was 2. When the groups were completed last December I was confident we would kick on and establish ourselves as a good Champions League side. This year I’m not so sure.

Needs money to buy defenders to compete in Europe . Unseeded in the next round and without sorting the issues out, 2 games will be the lot In February

Got half time substitutes spot on and formation ensured we kept the ball better . That’s nonsense

We've obviously improved at this level since Deila.

However if anything I would say the performances in the Group Stage last year were better. In fact, quite a bit better.

I think too many houndings might have permanently effed this group of players in the UCL.

Defenders alone isn’t the answer. They need help from the players in front of them.

The subs improved things.

But sticking with two wing backs who weren't getting up the park was wrong. We were far too narrow and again went to launching balls to nobody and giving away possession. The diamond in the second half was far too narrow and Tierney and Forrest were too deep.

It didn't work.

We drew twice with Man City so they can’t have been all that unassailable.

It's not an excuse it's just a fact.

In many ways it was utterly chronic tonight and Rodgers has serious work to do but it's ludicrous to suggest Europe has been some kind of unmitigated disaster for him so far.
