Four in a row for BR , what's the record for a new manager? Domestically obviously.

Well he's going to get 5 at the very least.

The icing on the cake?

Maybe not the fourth consecutive trophy as much as giving his medal to the wee supporter :)

Celtic, through and through :worthy:

Now, back him to the hilt, and let's see where we can go!

I know our Club is against having debt of any kind at all, which is why they try to balance the books as much as possible, and it's commendable BUT

This manager, and this team, have something very special about them and our Club could afford to have a debt of say £20m and not be worried about going under. Give BR that £20m to spend and see how far he could take us. I'm thinking a Europa League win and maybe a last 8/4 CL season. What he's done with essentially a minimal spend is fantastic, now give him some proper money!

I hope it doesn't happen but will be interesting to see where the money goes if one of players leaves for a big fee. I would expect vast majority to go to Brendan to spend rather than towards running costs.

£20 million wont go far -

Scott Sinclair alone including transfer fee and his wages cost us between 10-12 million.

The board give every penny they can to BR. Thats why CL is vital season after season. It allows us to pay big wages to the likes of Dembele and Sinclair, while renewing contracts of current players.

Nice to hear him lay it on thick about the tackle on Moussa and the extent of his injury. We need to keep that at the top of our agenda. No one else will.

At the AGM, answering a question from a shareholder about Stockley's elbowing of KT at the Scottish Cup Final, Brendan Rodgers revealed that he'd spoken to the SFA's head of refereeing about the protection of (all) players from dangerous and reckless challenges

He also mentioned the elbowing of Cardoso in the Motherwell v Sevco LC semi-final. He should have mentioned the potential leg-breaker on KT from the same Motherwell player last season.

I hope Brendan has been back on the phone to the referee's high heid yin about that brutal assault on Moussa Dembele on Sunday. Moussa was fortunate he didn't suffer a broken leg.

The SFA's compliance officer should have issued a retrospective red card to Kipre for that thuggery.

A player is going to get seriously injured by a Motherwell player if this endangering of opponents is allowed to continue.

100% spot on,

Brendan has the team playing with remarkable discipline as he says a player being sent off the park is no use to him but he is definitely speaking out about refs/decisions/thuggery more this season and good on him.

Personally against feckers like the Family Club and the Perthshire Farmers I would like to see a few of them nailed hard but fair Jozo/Bin Bag style but no doubt most of the time it would entail an early bath for the Celtic player especially now now Jayne feckin Lasley the effwit bint is trying to influence and controi Scottish football and weans Christmases :ffs: - I still think back to McGregor getting sent off at Hamilton because he couldn't stop in time on their pitch. :nono:

CHRIS DAVIES insists Cedric Kipre’s Hampden cruncher could have WRECKED Moussa Dembele’s career.

The Celtic No2 reckons Dembele was lucky to escape serious injury after the Well star’s lunging tackle in Sunday’s Betfred Cup Final.

Davies said: “The more you watch it back, the worse it gets. Could it have been a career-wrecker? Absolutely.”

Referee Craig Thomson failed to even award Celtic a free-kick for Kipre’s over-the-ball tackle on Dembele’s ankle.

But the French striker is now out of the Fir Park clash and could miss Celtic’s third meeting in seven days with Well at Parkhead on Saturday.

He is also a doubt for next week’s vital Champions League showdown with Anderlecht.

Davies said: “With a bit of luck Moussa’s avoided that situation of a long-term injury. Physically he’s strong. Hopefully he won’t be out for too long.

“He’s got a swollen ankle. It was a very poorly-timed tackle, so we’ll have to see how he goes. He’s had a bad twist to the ankle, but it could have been much, much worse. Thankfully for him, it’s not.

“It’s early stages with the swelling. We’ll wait for that to go down. After 72 hours you can start to get a clearer picture on a twist.

“But it’s not a long-term thing. Hopefully he’ll be OK.”

Dembele was booked moments later for his own rash tackle on Carl McHugh before scoring a controversial 59th-minute penalty which saw Kipre sent off for his challenge on Scott Sinclair.

Davies emphatically defended Sinclair over accusations of diving, but stopped short of confirming the attacker would start at Fir Park.

The Hoops assistant, who hinted Brendan Rodgers will make a number of changes, said: “We haven’t spoken about the incident. For us it was a penalty, as the manager said after the game.

“Scott’s been up here for 16 months and is a player who isn’t known for these types of incidents.

“There WAS contact, there WASN’T an attempt to play the ball, he WAS pulled down, he went down.

“I’m not worried about referees taking this view of Scott. He’s a very honest and hard-working player, a great role model for young players.

“It’s not Scott’s fault that the guy has made that action. It’s not Scott’s fault that the ref has sent him off.

“It’s not a genuine attempt to play the football. It’s a red card. I thought it was a very good decision in that respect.

“In general I thought the referee had a very good game.”

Davies warned Well that the Invincibles — 65 domestic games unbeaten and four successive trophies — will meet any fire with fire.

Comparing boss Rodgers with Sir Alex Ferguson, he added: “Our mentality will be, if it is possible, to bring a bigger intensity to the game, bring more quality to the game, bring our performance level up. So that, in the event theirs increased, we’d still be ahead.

“Sir Alex Ferguson went on to be a very successful manager and Brendan has that same hunger and desire.”

Well done, Chris Davies.

Celtic really need to make an issue of this before a player (of any club) has their career ended by thuggery.

IMHO, Motherwell need reined in

Heard some people suggest Brendan isn't too hot on identifying good signings, but he's sure got an eye for collecting good assistant coaches.
Davies is pure class, as is Brendan.
