up there with any off-field feeling I've had as a Celtic fan. Robbie and Roy Keane signings, Brown signing, Jock Brown leaving, Larsson signing a new deal under Venglos, Cadete signing, spending £1.75m on Phil O'Donnell, the Rebels having won

All just moments that I found really exciting notwithstanding they didn't happen in a game.

I am totally made up. I thought we would get David Moyes or Mackay, I didn't think Brendan was obtainable. It makes today's event far more easier to have to put up with in the pub. I only wish that the board had been more ambitious 2 years ago when Neil Lennon left. Anyway that is the past, now for the future.

One of the funniest bit yesterday was the 'Sky Poll', you could almost feel the pain. Our favourite Sky Sports News Hunny saying along the lines of , " We have had an absolutely huge response to our Poll, and at the moment 48% of football fans are against."

Right O, Jim. Right O.

There is that!

Just thought he is experienced, has tactical nous particularly defensively which will compliment Rogers attacking philosophy and he may be more palatable as a no. 2 given the baggage.

Still absolutely buzzing at this appointment. Considering we loved in a completely different financial climate when we appointed MON,id argue this an even bigger couple. The buzz it has already generated itself says it all. Next season will be great. Cant wait.

Just had a quick squint at the comments on BBC, for comedy value. Full of feart Huns and naysayers of the Scottish game, why not go for anything which is not a one horse race Brendan?

Hilarious and woke up this morning thinking I'd dreamed his appointment last night.

We couldn't have got Rodgers two years ago.

People talk about a lack of ambition but when you look at the options at that time, who did we really miss out on?

Keane, Mackay, Lambert, Larsson, even Lennon didn't want it. They were all keen this time round. Clarke had been the only one who has seemed consistently interested. He might have been a success but wouldn't have excited the fans as much as Rodgers' appointment has.

What is impressive is that Rodgers would have appealed to most EPL sides. Had he not been a Liverpool manager, Everton would have jumped at him. This is equivalent to us signing a player like Rooney or Fabregas

Yesterday was a great day.

This is genuine back to MON days - still can't quite comprehend it.

If you're like me & your mates are all huns, you'll know they're a) beelin & b) feart.

Great credit to the board & needless to say it's won a lot of fans back.
No wanting to be pishing on chips but I think it's just a tier down from when MON took over. He inherited a team with Larsson, Moravcik, Lambert, Petrov and Mjallby and spent £5 million on 3 different players,

I've no doubt Rodgers is capable of giving us a team to be proud of though
Yeah, don't disagree with any of that.

It's all relative though. Times have changed - we've been nowhere near this sort of appointment since MON. Let's be honest, we all expected Lennon back or Malky.

The biggest thing is this is a change of direction that we were all crying out for. No more Lawwell / Park Balde, Bangura, Cole, etc, nonsense. No more, this is your assistant. Appointing a proper manager & letting him run the show is how it should be.

I don't expect £5m to be spent on a player & there's no need to be going down that road. BR's time at Swansea shows what he can do on a tighter budget.

We don't have the players MON inherited, but there's a decent enough squad there & with the right additions in areas we all know need addressed, we can kick on.

If you think of where we were not too long ago, this is a good place!

Yeah I'm genuinely excited to see what he plans to do with us, I'd love it if we could make Celtic Park a place for teams to be properly intimidated by again whether that be with 50000+ fans in the SPL with the new standing section and attacking fearless football or European teams coming knowing they're going to get a right good game- the sort of thing that made Bayern Munich celebrate getting a draw there.

Obviously we're very far off that the now but all of a sudden there's a lot of reasons to be excited about Celtic again.
