Next question gets applause - I’d just like to thank Brendan and is he here for 10 in a row?

BR - I love my time here and hopefully I will be

@celticrumours
Brendan on centre half issue - Not too many Toure’s about. It’s a challenge to bring in. Do you bring in a young talent? We need to sign a centre half. We have great centre half’s but they need to be available #ticagm Nir Bitton has been brilliant for me

BR - People have been watching Nir with confirmation bias. He’s been great
We want to develop the club and squad and looking to do that

Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell says he wouldn't swap Brendan Rodgers for any other manager in the world.

Speaking at the club's AGM, Lawwell praised the Northern Irishman for guiding Celtic to an invincible domestic treble in his first season.

"It's been a fantastic year and I don't think anyone could have predicted it," said Lawwell.

"I genuinely don't think there's anyone in world football I'd rather have in charge."

Maloney and Commons on Sportsound just now talking about BR. Effusive in their praise and some great insight.

Maloney, on asked about the change in the culture of the club says it genuinely feels as if it's all geared towards something long-term.

Well worth listening to when the podcast gets released later this evening.

Commons also revealed that Rodgers' desire for the highest standards extends to his office floor.

"He spends money like there is no tomorrow!" he added. "One thing he does spend money on is good quality carpet. You go in his office and I swear I have never seen carpet that thick in my life.

"You almost need a rugby scrum just to shut the front door - it is phenomenal. But it was lovely…I wanted to take my shoes off just to feel it between my feet!"

Doubt it as he's recently given him a new contract and he's missing the biggest games of the season, not like he's declaring unfit for a wet cold away game in Inverness in January. Frustration at being without his CH partnership for virtually every big game so far, injuries to both. We've done well in the circumstances.

He got the new deal a month before the Bayern game, which was when BR made his comments about players needing to be available. I thought he sounded fed up with Jozo at the time but I'm probably reading too much into it.

Thinking that Brendan like Larsson, is one of our truly World Class people - who actually gets us & won't just jump ship to the £PL at the earliest opportunity.

That makes him very special.

Off course he get's us - he was "born into Celtic" so whatever path his career took he would still always 'get us'

Yes, but that wouldn't REALLY matter, if he wasn't OUR manager.

The fact he is & that he'll most likely Not jump ship at the 1st opportunity, is what, like Larsson makes him special.

We've had other World Class people with us, few like Larsson - Brendan is in that class.

BRENDAN RODGERS is keeping tabs on an Australian double-act.

Canberra United defender Nick Faust   and   Leo Mazis, a midfielder with Belconnen   United spent a fornight training with Celtic under Rodgers’ eye.

Faust said he had an “awesome” stint with the champions and said it was an “incredible experience”

He added: “Seeing the intensity of how they train definitely motivates you. We got to train with the first team a few times and watch them play. It was awesome.”

The versatile defender was added to the Canberra squad for their debut National Youth League campaign which kicks off against the Western Sydney Wanders today.

Canberra United defender Nick Faust wants to use a two-week stint at Celtic to follow in the footsteps of Soceroos' superstar Tom Rogic.

ACT export Rogic began his illustrious career at Tuggeranong United where Faust plays in the NPL Capital Football and last month spent a fortnight training with the Scottish Giants.

Faust and Belconnen United's Leo Mazis were the only non-academy players in a squad of 20 who enjoyed two sessions with the first team under the eye of manager Brendan Rodgers.

"Seeing the intensity of how they train definitely motivates you and we got to train with the first team a few teams and then watch them play, it was awesome," Faust said.

Rogic's Canberra-based manager Andy Bernal orchestrated the invitation and Faust said it was an incredible experience to mix with players at the elite level.

"Everyone was talking about Tom over there and then we met up with him and talked about Canberra a bit, he was just happy to speak to somebody that didn't have an accent," Faust said.

"He was a really nice and just told us to keep working hard and it would great to follow his path and play at that level one day."

The 18-year-old was added to the Canberra United squad for their maiden National Youth League campaign which kicks off against the Western Sydney Wanders on Sunday.

"We were training every day over there and it's great to be a part of the United side now and I'm just focusing on that now I've finished school," Faust said.

Canberra was handed a one-year NYL licence in the wake of the FFA Centre of Excellence being axed in August and will be the only team in the competition not aligned to an A-League club.

United coach Ryan Grogan guided the academy's under-20 side in the NPL this season and said the NYL competition will ensure ACT players are exposed on the national stage.

"It is clear that there is an abundance of talented youth players in the ACT and they now have a platform in which they can showcase their ability against some of the best youth players from around the country," Rogan said.

Have there been any jokes about doing a deal for Faust? If not I've got a couple of gags ready.
