Hope the players have enough awareness to win the next game and give Brendan a 63 game record on his own merit. For all his humility he would justifiably deserve this.

Edit. Doesn't matter.

Don't know if it's online but his pre match with nosferatu today was just about the most enlightening 2-3 minutes you will ever hear on how he approaches especially European games. He opened up on how he wants to defend in these games and it's pretty obvious he wasn't getting that v psg and in Munich.

We might not win it but with the right draw and a bit of intelligence in the transfer market I don't think he sees the Europa as being it for this club.

I canny help but think we will do something in Europe with this man. There may be more than a dash of hope in there too, but there is a determination about him.

#63

Well done Brendan and the team.

If we qualify for the EL (which we are in a very good position to do) & therefore cement the progress made by Brendan & his team, he honestly deserves to be backed by the board & I think he will be,

First season, an invincible treble & CL groups.
Second season, CL groups & potential EL knock outs + whatever else domestically.

He's done this with very little activity in the transfer market - Sinclair, Dembele & N'tcham with a few fringe players like DDV, Gamboa & Edouard (loan).

There is a lot of chat about Brendan being wanted by PL Clubs like Everton, West Ham & Arsenal. The Board must be aware of this chat & know that he is very capable of getting a job there & that we're unlikely to get anyone remotely close to his quality if he leaves.
We surely must have some money from back to back CL participation & with the potential of a EL knock out game(s) we should be building for next summer, when we go into 4 qualifiers.

Brendan has now come out & said January is our most important window (I''ve been saying this for ages) in order to get the players in & ready for the summer, he's hinted that he's been somewhat disappointed in our transfer activity & with the new(ish?) head of scouting also in place now, I fully expect us to get some first team ready players in quickly.

Anyone know when the draw for the EL knockouts is, in relation to the transfer window opening? I'm going to check..

I reckon we'll go back in for that South African centre half. Have heard he's fit now.

On that note, we'll lose Armstrong, Paddy and Moussa in the summer for certain. Edouard may (or may not) already be a solution to one of those problems, but we'll need another winger and centre midfielder for certain, especially with Bitton probably moving on as well.

Scott Brown isn't getting any younger. Sadly, he looks irreplaceable. Would be happy if we went on for McGinn though as he might - in time - be a good fit.

He signed for some other mob on deadline day. Dunno if we've done a wee bit of jiggery pokery and agreed to take him off them or what have you, but it'd be a bit odd. You'd think he'd just have stayed where he was if we were going back for him.

Paddy has done nowhere near enough for City to remain interested. That probably applies to most EPL teams too...

I’d say, on the basis of his performances so far this season, we have more chance of a permanent move for Paddy than ever before.

Brendan Rodgers last night distanced himself from a move back to the English Premier League by insisting that he couldn’t be happier anywhere else in the world than he is at Parkhead.

West Ham fans were clamouring for their club - who appointed David Moyes as boss yesterday - to make a move for the Celtic manager and Rodgers’ record-breaking exploits with the Hoops have not gone unnoticed south of the border.

But the Northern Irishman is adamant he is no rush to head back into the cut-throat world of the English top flight because he is so satisfied with his work and life in Glasgow.

He said: “I look at the Premier League and you have virtually got a six week cycle and that’s frightening as a coach and a manager.

“It used to be you managed the club and dealt with the club but lots of times now you are managing in a six week cycle and if you have a bad four or five weeks you can be out of work and that way you’re never going to progress as a club.

“When I came to Celtic, the club was looking to move on. Ronny (Deila) had done a good job in his two years winning two titles. I felt if we came in and won in a better way we could fill the stands again.

“And it has been fantastic for me working at Celtic and doing what we are doing.

“I’m not sure I could be anywhere in the world, not just in England, and be as happy as I am now because I’m getting the chance to develop players.”
