Sorry if this has been posted before. But BR talks about the one club and it's great to see he lives it and demonstrates it. It's easy for people to say the right thing or come away with audience pleasing soundbites - and not commit to it. But not BR, he lives what he believes.

BRENDAN RODGERS joined Celtic great Willie Maley in the history books on Saturday after equalling a 100-year-old unbeaten domestic record.

And less than 24 hours later the Treble-winning boss was pictured leading the Under-14s side at Barrowfield.

The Hoops’ 1-1 draw with Kilmarnock ensured the club would equal Maley’s 62 game British record which has stood since 1917, meaning only St Johnstone stand in the way of smashing it next weekend.

But rather than celebrate reaching another incredible milestone with the Scottish champions, Rodgers decided to spend the afternoon with the club’s academy youngsters.

The Northern Irishman hasn’t been shy in giving the club’s up-and-coming prospects a chance to shine in the first-team.

Mikey Johnston was handed a run out against Killie, while Anthony Ralston, Calvin Miller and Jack Aitchinson have all been involved.

Mikey Johnston caught the eye against Kilmarnock
But Rodgers isn’t just looking at the immediate term after taking the time to dish out invaluable advice to the club’s future stars.

The Celtic FC Academy Twitter page wrote: “Brendan Rodgers led Celtic to equal a 100-year-old unbeaten domestic record yesterday. Today he helped with the U14s. Class is permanent.”

Another post added: “62 games undefeated. Bayern Munich on Tuesday and the Manager can still find time to advise our U14s today.”

The classy touch also went down well with Celtic fans who hailed the Treble-winning boss online.

We deserved a point tonight and he sounded gutted in his post match interview, but we can see what he is wanting. He needs to be given what he needs to make it happen.

Ok, we lost the game but tonight feels like a real milestone. A composed and competitive performance against a world class (if slightly weakened) Bayern team.

Brendan should be proud of his team and the progress we have made.

We've got to support him though to try and get the class of player in that will help us improve even further in Europe, we have a good start but can improve game by game season on season.

Slaughtered BR for his tactics after last Bayern game.

Tonight he got everything right.

Fact Tierney, Forrest and McGregor were our best players IMO really pleases me.

Three Scottish guys giving one of the best teams in Europe a hard time is heartening.

If the team play like that in Europa League it will take a really good side to beat us.

Agree with this. After Bayern away there was a lot of talk about being more pragmatic but his tactics were spot on last night. We need to play this way to have any chance of improving. We seemed to learn from mistakes we have previously made last night and it was just that little bit of quality that won them it. They took their chances and we didn't and we also slipped up at the first goal but it was encouraging how we actually lifted our game after this rather than folding.

The Scottish bhoys also being a stand out last night is encouraging. Some real quality additions in January could see us take another step up.

I was also at the Armadillo on Friday. Good evening with Brendan saying it's the happiest he's ever been in his life and even stretched his fingers at the start. :)

I want him to stay forever.

I cried when Henrik left and thought at the time I would never get this emotional about someone leaving again. WRONG!!!! when this guy leaves I will need intensive therapy to get over it. If ever there was someone made for us it's this man. Everything about him is utter class. The ultimate professional.

Luckily it will be many years before I need therapy. Back this man Celtic. Give him what he wants to take us to the next level, and make no mistake the next level is where we are heading under this man. You will reap the massive rewards that will come with it.

just playing forrest gave us a more solid midfield

i like roberts but forrest offers more protection against these better teams. it was an obvious change somewhat enforced because of roberts injury

mcgregor was also more solid and consistent than ntcham has been, so that was a good change

brendan's signed a long term deal, we should massively front load his transfer kitty to get a strong long term team in place while he tries to develop more youngsters

we've made £60-70m from 2 champions league campaigns, the money must be there to give him £25m
