I wonder if he fancies Joey Barton. That would be funny.
Been outstanding for Burnley, apparently offered a 12 month deal at 45k per week to stay....
He has in fairness. It's just wishful thinking on my part - a loss in the final, Rodgers paraded on Monday and Barton on Tuesday.

He as a similar philosophy to Deila regarding fitness and stuff doesn't he? I think being Irish he'll have a better understanding of the Scottish mentality regarding this kind of thing and will have a much easier time of selling it to the players.

Yesterday was a great day.

This is genuine back to MON days - still can't quite comprehend it.

If you're like me & your mates are all huns, you'll know they're a) beelin & b) feart.

Great credit to the board & needless to say it's won a lot of fans back.

No happy. He sent my mrs an email and no me. Finished wi the bastard awready :(

Seriously though still a little shocked we got such a high profile name. I expected the board to get their fingers out a bit given the decline but this a fantastic move and everyone of my mates cant wait for the new season. Positivity everywhere and that can only be good.

Good times ahead I hope.
Just wait and see what he gives your mrs when youre away to work. Hit for the team and all that :twitch:

When we approached players in the past they probably asked who the manager was and maybe hadn't heard of Lennon or Deila.

They'll have heard of Rodgers and there will be plenty of young players around Europe who will want to come and play for him.

Imagine how many times Barton would get sent off playing for us?

Totally agree re: the profile of the club being boosted. Am 100% sure there will be a lot of players who're aware of how Rodgers dealt with Suarez and look at him now? etc

Thing is I hope he doesn't feel the need for 5 or 6 signings. 3 or maybe 4 tops with the rest coming from the young lads, if we don't give them a chance we'll never know.

No wanting to be pishing on chips but I think it's just a tier down from when MON took over. He inherited a team with Larsson, Moravcik, Lambert, Petrov and Mjallby and spent £5 million on 3 different players,

I've no doubt Rodgers is capable of giving us a team to be proud of though

He has some job on his hands weeding out the cowards and shampooebags that didn't play under Ronny and moulding a team out of the rest.

I genuinely think there is the guts of a decent team in there if he is able to sort out the good from the bad from the awful.

Exciting times :rocker:

Agree MON inherited great players(not a great team) and could compete in the EPL transfer market.I think we have got to have a realism check.I'm hoping to dominate the domestic front and playing decent football. In Europe if we qualify for the champions league and not get hammerings then that's as much as we can expect from any manager.

Go to imgur.com and add your picture there.

Then when your picture is uploaded to that website click the drop down next to the picture's hyperlink and select BBCode.

Copy and paste the resulting text to KDS. The first part of the text will be [ img ] without the spaces.

He shouldn't have to sell it to the players. Anyone who downed tools under Deila should be out the door anyway.

Was too young to properly remember the hype around MON so this has got to be to most exciting appointment in my memory.

Dare I say it, we could have a very good transfer window coming up.

FWIW, I still think it is a big ask to qualify for the CL this season (the new manager qualifying curse) but we have at least given ourselves a fighting chance with this appointment.

He's in the door in plenty of time, hopefully a couple of players in over the next few weeks and we'll be on our way. Share your fears though, just seen it happen so often.
