Anyone know why he was in Paris yesterday?
None of the dumb-dumbs in the press seemed to pick up on that wee nugget.

Reading Harry Redknapp's book and there's a wee snippet about him that is interesting. Harry's a fan
" I knew exactly how I wanted the England team to play.
And I knew the man to get them to do it, too. When Tottenham played Swansea on 1 April 2012, I pulled Brendan Rodgers aside after the game and said that if all this speculation about England was true, would he consider coming to the European Championships in the summer, as my part-time coach? I loved what he had done with Swansea, the way he had taken players who had not been encouraged to play adventurous football previously and turned them into outstanding technical, thinking footballers. I thought he would be perfect to develop those ideas with England. I don’t think a guy like Brendan would be a gamble for England at all. At Swansea he had Garry Monk, a journeyman professional who used to be with Barnsley, Sheffield Wednesday and Torquay United among others, and Ashley Williams, 159 games for Stockport County, and suddenly they were knocking it about like Franz Beckenbauer and passing the ball into midfield. I thought if Brendan could do that with them, what would he be like with Rio and Terry, or Rooney and Gerrard?
And Brendan was up for it. I told him I wanted England to play with as much technical ambition as Swansea and that he would be ideal for the summer tournament; and he seemed really keen. If I got the job, he said, he would speak to the people at Swansea to get their permission. ‘It would be a great experience for you, Brendan,’ I told him. ‘I want England to play like you play. Pass the ball, play and play and play.’ Some people reading this may think it means I was distracted, but I can assure you the conversation took five minutes and the idea was in my head before the job became available. I had been saying it for months previously, that the FA should get a guy like Brendan Rodgers involved with England. I was convinced his way should be England’s way, too. So there was never a distraction. I was still totally focused on Tottenham. And we beat Swansea 3–1 that day, by the way.
So on 1 April I was contemplating the way forward for England with Brendan Rodgers – and on 29 April the FA offered the job to Roy Hodgson." Well said 'arry

There were people round me shouting (and me a few times) but not for the ball to be launched up field but for Celtic to move the ball quicker, to run at them and get their passing quicker.
PATIENCE IS KEY Brendan Rodgers says Celtic won’t resort to throwing long balls in the box after frustrating draw with St Johnstone Rodgers was unhappy with a section of Parkhead fans who urged their team to punt the ball up field as they were trailing the Saints
Spoiler: click to toggle By Robert Grieve BRENDAN RODGERS reckons kick-and rush football has held Scottish football back for 20 years. And he insists it’ll NEVER move Celtic forward. Rodgers was unhappy with a section of Parkhead fans who urged their team to punt the ball upfield against St Johnstone. The Hoops boss gestured to supporters and appealed to them to keep calm before Callum McGregor’s late leveller. Rodgers said: “We had a couple of wee incidents. “It’s understandable that the supporters want to see the ball in the box, but like I’ve said since I came here, the quicker it goes forward, the quicker it comes back. “One example was where Kieran Tierney was under pressure, with no-one near him. He probably felt he had to smash it forward and we ended up giving the ball away. “And I was just signalling to the fans to stay calm. This is football, you have to stay calm under pressure, not just the players or you can play Scottish football – and just smash it up the pitch. “Or you can play Scottish football and just smash it up the pitch – that hasn’t got you far for 20 odd years. “So you have to play. The support is amazing for us they give incredible momentum with their enthusiasm in the game but naturally you have to stay calm. “Everyone wants to see the ball in the box but you have to build your way through and we still had time in the game.” Rodgers was a happy man after the final whistler having watched his men battle back for a point. He added: “We lacked energy in the first half, we were pretty slow on the ball. They’re probably the most difficult opponent you can play coming off a European trip. “We made a mistake for the goal and that’s my responsibility. I always ask the players to have the courage and the nerve to play, and they do that, so if they make a mistake it[s down to me. “I’d rather than because 99.9 per cent of the time we can build our game and work it well, so I take the responsibility. “I felt at half time we needed some legs and some energy so we brought on two and changed the shape to create impetus, then Callum comes on, we put more risk into the game and change the shape again, and fort the last half hour the players were exceptional. “The energy, the quality – we got the goal but it felt like we could get one or two more. “It was a mixture of great defending and some amazing saves and then the ball just not quite dropping for us. “I can be nothing but proud of the team and everything they put in. “We made a few changes to the team but second half they showed their heart, their spirit, their desire to not lose a game. ”And that’s something we’ve created within the sad. “They were brilliant. We did everything we could to get the win but we couldn’t so we take the point.” Goal hero McGregor was delighted to grab the goal that kept Celtic’s unbeaten run going. McGregor said: “In the second-half we stepped up the tempo to try and go win the game. “When you get that first goal you quite often go and get a second. “In was maybe just a bit of bad luck in the end in terms of the ball not falling for us. “But I feel we showed good character to get a point. “Games like these are tough after European games but we can’t make any excuses. “We try and take the next game and makes sure there is energy in the team. “We weren’t quite at it in the first half but in the second half we put everything into the game to get a result and thankfully we got a point. PA:Press Association 5 Relief all round for Rodgers and his troops after the full-time whistle “When you’re chasing the game you need to keep believing you can get something. “Once we got the goal we tried to get another one but we just couldn’t do it. “With the goal it was a good ball from Scotty and I just tried to slip him back in. “I got the ricochet, got it out my feet, and managed to finish it. “But there were another four or five that could have fallen for us on another day. “But I think you’ve got to give St Johnstone credit. They defended really well, Tommy always sets his teams up well when they come here and it was a difficult game. “They’re always a tough test for us, no matter where we play them. “And off the back of a long journey for us they were tough opponents.” McGregor – left out of Gordon Strachan’s Scotland squad for the double header with Lithuania and Malta – added: “It’s been a funny week. “Everyone in the group is buzzing to get into the Champions League group stages again. “We got another great draw and we’ll be looking forward to those games. “We then came back into our bread and butter league games that gets you there. “We weren’t at our best but we managed to pick up a point. “I’m now getting a few days off at the end of next week. I’ll watch the Scotland game. “All I can do is look after my Celtic stuff, play well, score goals and try and create goals – and see where that takes me. “I’ve got another goal here which is great.” https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/1475649/celtic-brendan-rodgers-long-balls-st-johnstone/

The Simon Ferry interview with Charlie Mulgrew touches on this, says it get to the players I get that Brendan says we have to be patient, and if we're moving the ball about well then sometimes you do need to go back but there was no pace to our play yesterday and too many times players were taking the easy option to pass back rather than looking up and seeing the pass in front of them. A few times in the second half McGregor and Sinclair were in good space but brown/bitton decided to go back the way rather than look up and move it on. Think that is what the fans were being frustrated at.

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
The Simon Ferry interview with Charlie Mulgrew touches on this, says it get to the players
I get that Brendan says we have to be patient, and if we're moving the ball about well then sometimes you do need to go back but there was no pace to our play yesterday and too many times players were taking the easy option to pass back rather than looking up and seeing the pass in front of them. A few times in the second half McGregor and Sinclair were in good space but brown/bitton decided to go back the way rather than look up and move it on. Think that is what the fans were being frustrated at. I would like to think thst everything Brendan and the team have done for us over the past 12 months deserve a bit of patience, yes they were a bit flat in the first half but that's understandable based on the exertions of midweek however he acts swiftly as always and changes things at half time and we would have won it comfortably based on the amount of clear cut chances we had in the second half.
He is also brave enough to say blame him when we make a mistake at the back as it is the way he wants us to play, building up from the back and pulling the opposition around - you didn't see people complaining when we scored our goal of the season last year against st Johnstone which emanated from passing around the back, which included Gordon.
I think we need to trust him and his judgement not get on the teams back as that will only drive him away which I am sure will be blamed on PL and not the impatience of fans who don't know when they have a good thing - enjoy this while we can because you never know what's around the corner!

Grade one clown though as he is never done moaning, or using profane language. Anytime a pass goes astray or misses it's intended target he goes aff like a two bob rocket.

Big guy was giving him dogs abuse and Lennon thought it was another guy who was actually defending him who went tonto. Got an apology at Parkhead and on Radio Clyde eventually. Totally mental and all because the big guy is an idiot.

Brendan needs to realize that Brown, Boyata and especially Gordon are going to cost us in this seasons CL before it's too late. They are our weak links and Brendan must grow a pair and make sure neither of them are in the side in our opening game against PSG.

Got it wrong today. Nonsense.
He picked the right team but in the first half we had a few players well below par. At half time he switched two of those and then when we were still chasing the goal he switched it up again and we were all over them. A three or four one win would not have flattered us.
