was lukewarm about his appointment - I am an effin eejit

has far surpassed any and all expectations I could possibly had last season, playing beautiful, inventive football

his knowledge, thoroughness, preparedness and enthusiasm for Celtic shine thru in everything he does. His tactical changes, the way he's transformed bit-part players and the whole squad have been marvellous to watch

another season even halfway as good as last year's and he'll be overtaking MON as my fave Celtic boss

I have been utterly gobsmacked by the influence of BR. We can only hope he enjoys it as much as we are enjoying him.
Here you stop with trying to put the fear into us :boxer:

wasn't so long ago folk were commenting how none of the youths were ready or good enough to step into the first team, doesn't seem to be the case now and that too is down to Brendan and his philosophy.

If a Celtic manager earns their salary by Champions' League qualification, and if that's worth £30m, then...

2 seasons of Ronny, £500,000 a year, 2 failed attempts, minus £59m
2 seasons of Brendan, £2.5m a year, 2 qualifications, plus £55m

The improvements to players is increasing their transfer values so much too.

We could pay him £10m a year and it would be worth it.

He is the Ace Rimmer of football managers.

What a guy!

Brendan was always my preferred choice as I liked what he did at Liverpool, I was terrified we were going to get saddled with Moyes. Would have been an awful appointment, thank God he thought he was too good for us  I daresay he has some talent as a manager, but he doesn't know how to manage at a big club with high expectations and his football is turgid.

Don't mean to go all accountant on you, but we don't lose £59m if you don't qualify for the CL - you just don't get the £59m.

Down with your knowledge and understanding of the game
Incredible knowledge given we conceded about 4 minutes after he came on the pitch.

Fancy sharing some of your insights and giving the snidey retorts a wee break?
Don't forget that Astana came close to 5-1, before Ntcham's goal.

At 5-1, we might have continued in freefall mode.

I didn't say the money was lost. But if it was money we had a chance to win, and we didn't win it, then we had earned £59m less than we potentially could have.

Although we still played in EL, so we're probably up £7m a season with Ronny, rather than -£59m

Good point.

But things are definitely better under Rodgers. That's all I'm saying.

I'm not in the slightest bit serious - just thought I hadn't seen that debate in a while.

Mon is the greatest Celtic manager that I have seen - Jock left when I was 3. Brendan could easily replace MON in my affections

Brendan, Chris Davies, John Kennedy, Glen Driscoll, Jack Nayler, Tim Williamson & many others deserve massive credit for the work they've put in over the last year. Each of those names above all have had a massive part to play. I think the big team experience that comes with Driscoll(Chelsea and Liverpool) and Nayler(real and psg) is not to be forgotten, they've added a proper professional attitude throughout the squad on a daily basis.

Fwiw, all going well, I think we have Brendan's ready made replacement in Chris Davies.

Deilas first season was also under the old CL deal, so was probably £15-20m rather than £30m. ;)
