It's pointless to debate this in lots of ways, but Brendan Rodgers will never have to face the ogre that Rangers was at the time, swinging it's cash cosh and flattening opponents merely by the sight of its malevolent eye and the stench of its breath, hinting at the rot within.

MON just walked right up to it, booted it in the baws, took its cash cosh and left it muttering incoherently in a puddle of its own slabbers which has become increasingly fetid over the years.

All of our subsequent managers have gone in and never had the weight upon their shoulders that had grown heavier year on year as Rangers plundered a decade's worth of silverware. Our fans had felt it too and the feeling of the MON years will be hard to surpass for that reason.

Brendan has the chance to give us some more amazing memories, having already had a domestic season like no other. If he gets the backing he has earned and deserved we might yet start to see our name as one to be revered in Europe again. One thing for sure, well never have a better chance to splash out on that extra bit of quality to complement the undoubted talent already at our disposal, on the pitch and in the dugout.

So I suppose it's a wee bit pointless to compare when their targets and circumstances were so different. But it's great that he's mentioned as possibly the best since Jock Stein, because it gives rise to the feeling that most of us have I'd imagine, that with the rub of the green we could be in for something special.

 BR on the other hand has bad to take over at a time of success, high expectation and fans that don't have that hunger there was in the 90s. That he has re-ignited the passion for players and fans shouldn't be overlooked. Not an easy task.

Take Celtic out of the equation I'd say MON's achievements down south are better than Brendan's, at least until he accidentally wandered into the footballing black hole of Sunderland.

When Brendan takes over Ireland will be the true showdown :)

I love how he handles the media and talks up the managers in our game. Its does come across quite arrogant at times but kills them with kindness. Sooner or later they will all bend the knee.

We are incredibly lucky to have him.

Love how the youths that are getting their chance atm are all playing the Brendan Rodgers style of football too. The transition looks so seamless.

It's the improvements in everyone. All the players . The will to learn under him. The passion, fight, heart installed in each of them . The ability now to play football at the highest level. To keep the ball away from home in Europe . Ability to dismantle everything in our way domestically. Dosent matter on age everyone plays a similar style of football . Modern day football I suppose . The Celtic way. It's an absolute joy to wake up each morning knowing he's the Celtic manager. How he conducts himself on and off the field . Man management of the players . He's quite simply world class. Another fan who has got lucky. And by god , we are so lucky to have him
