Not sure I'm following the logic of BR's comments about not having three top strikers at the club.

If that means the third striker has to be around Cifti's level then it makes no sense to leave him unregistered for two crucial games when it looks like the top strikers are out. I can understand not wanting to throw a young player into these games but surely Cifti being up there would have made things even slightly better? I don't see how it can make them much worse.
I'm more worried about his comment about Scottish
football all of last season he was more than positive
about it.
I took it he was referring to Scottish football's difficulty in competing financially with the bigger leagues where some clubs may be able to afford 3 top strikers. I didn't take it as debasing the Scottish game.

We don't have a massive squad therefore a handful of injuries could see our team peppered with youth players. That's how it is. We either have a big squad of ordinary or a smaller squad of quality.

I'm happy with how we're set up. Interesting that BR refers to Boyata as our #1 CB. It's unfortunate that we lose our best CF and CB for the most important part of our season and it's what we've got. In Brendan we trust.
Very surprised by his Boyata comment . I can't see big Jozo being very happy with that comment and I really wouldn't blame him

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers admits he's happy to bide his time to add quality to his squad

Hoops gaffer maintains he has no regrets about not strengthening his playing pool sooner and will wait to try and bring quality in from the EPL as the transfer window draws to a close.

Agree and sympathise with him as we have to start when many players are still on holiday. As we've brought in others from outside EPL, I know he's not just looking there. Can only assume there's specific player(s) he's waiting on to become available if not in 25 man squad. Obligatory Paddy

Here for Terry Munro.
He certainly gave the 2 hands up at the end of the game yesterday when we were singing Terry Munro.

Not sure if it's in context, but whatever, this quote from The Sunday Times could certainly be viewed as disconcerting:

"To go into a small list of names who have won the Treble is obviously a huge honour, and if anything, at least when I leave here, there's a bit of positive history to look back on".

Can obviously be read two ways, but the fact that it can may be enough to give pause for thought.

  are you serious, do you honestly think a player would take the huff because the manager is praising his central defensive partner :ffs:

Nothing to do with Brendan so I apologise for straying a bit but I have unearthed the fact that the average tenure of a manager in the professional game in England has dropped to just 1.23 years - with the Championship the hardest league in which to keep your job.

That surprises me a bit I must say.

He also seems a smart enough cookie to know that such comments might make folk behind the scenes get their fingers out if they've become a bit complacent. Obviously this time last year there was a big effort to get him in and Dembele, Sinclair etc. Needs the same again this year and every year if we're not to drift into mediocrity again.

I've kept my counsel for 5 days but I'm still agog and disgusted by Rodgers' pre-Rosenberg press conference comments about the Green Brigade. It's like the woman you thought you loved publicly making despicable and disgraceful remarks about your family. I don't think things will ever be the same with Rodgers and I'd prefer if he moved back to the EPL now.
