If my dad had stayed out of the pub long enough to become manager of Celtic and he DIDN'T give me 45 minutes in the hoops in a meaningless friendly, I'd have been furious.
Some people need to get a grip. This doesn't matter.

you can't claim everything about the club has to be completely professional and then take your son away for pre-season training while other -paid- players are left behind, and then put him on the bench, whether he gets on or not

it's not a massive deal but it's certainly not very professional
It's this 👍

Last year it was professional from day after imps

Maybe this is imp day

His boy is probably a Celtic fan, out of contract and looking for a club, needing to keep his fitness up. Why not give him a wee run out in a friendly?

Can't possibly imagine why anyone would be bothered about this.
The game was on a farm, it's difficult to comprehend folk being upset about this, embarrassing even.
I don't think many folk are upset just a bit bemused and feel that it's a bit unprofessional.

I treat it the same way as when we let Shearer score a penalty against us. It doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things but doesn't quite sit right with me.

Will be a quiz question of the future.
Allowing the son of Brendan Rodgers, a professional footballer with nearly 100 appearances in the EFL and underage caps for Ireland, play 45 minutes in a preseason friendly when we're tight for numbers is not unprofessional.

Nothing more than a fitness exercise, no big deal if a trialist plays 45mins.

It'll be forgotten about by next week, but for talking sake how would many casually palming it off, if it was say Strachan that done it.

Aye he made history last year and he may well just be our best coach since Stein but this whole Brendan can do what he wants, if he thinks it then its good enough for me stuff is a bit daft.

I'm struggling to see why it's much different to Kenny Dalglish playing with his son in Beardsleys testimonial. brendan can't obviously play but if he could a wee 45 mins in a friendly with his son would have been a special moment for them both. There's some ungrateful grumbling over nowt going on here. Surprised some folk are buying into the negativity being created around it.

There are few people whose default setting is focusing on a negative and moaning.... you will find they lead quite sad wee lives.

Strachan played his son Paul Telfer in 57 games, and I'm still bloody angry about every single one of them
