“My brothers didn't argue with me as I was the oldest! My dad might have watched the FA Cup final so I'd have to go to the pub to see Celtic. That's where I watched the Dundee United final in 1985, which was my favourite. I remember coming out and Man United had won the FA Cup thanks to Norman Whiteside's winner against Everton when he was only 17.

“I remember that clearly. Celtic had won a dramatic final then I came out and a Northern Irishman had won it at Wembley with a great finish.”

Watched the 1985 Scottish Cup Final aged 12 in a pub? effing hardcore in Carnlough!

The possession and ball retention absolutely shags the opposition when they have to chase it all the time - It is brilliant to watch. :rocker:
Yup. By far and away my favourite domestic non-hun performance this season was our 4-3 win against Motherwell.

How often have you seen any team go 2-0 behind and suddenly panic sets in? The keeper or defenders just launch it and try to fight for the second ball, get a wee stroke of luck or try and win a free kick further up the park, wingers just firing aimless balls into the 'danger area'? We didn't. We remained calm and recycled possession. Every one of our goals that day comes from remaining patient and trying to work something rather than forcing the issue or just blootering it up the park. It's a lesson that many technically better European countries have embraced and championed and one that Brendan hopefully teaches the rest of Scotland.

In that clip, when Posted Image scores, you actually hear the roar start before it hits the back of the net. :worthy:
Perhaps the game when it dawned on us that we were maybe onto something special ??

For me too. As glorious as drubbing ther Huns 5-1 at Ibrox was, we should have scored eight against them. Coming from 2 down v Motherwell in the way we did was just brilliant

Was the first time in a while we've been two down and still confident we'd pull it back. Must be torture to play against knowing you probably need to go three clear to have a sniff at 3 points.

Brendan Rodgers has revealed that he had his players reaching for the dictionary as he prepared his side to take the Invincible tag yesterday afternoon.

The Celtic manager's team-talk might have left a few of his players scratching their heads - but there was little doubt about the message that has been imparted from Rodgers throughout this season.

“The word I said to them was infrangible," smiled Rodgers. "That was the word I wrote up on the paper.

“Stuart Armstrong understood it but I did say that for those of you who don’t understand I wrote the meaning in below.

“To be unbroken, to feel that way – I gave them another word for their vocabulary. The definition and how we designed it, that was the purpose of today.”

Meanwhile, Rodgers believes that going through the season unbeaten will be an achievement that is unsurpassed in his lifetime.

It is 118 years since it was last done by Rangers, back when the season entailed just 18 league games.

And Rodgers acknowledged that his squad have written their name into the history books, although he was reluctant to share in the limelight.

“When I’m long gone from here that’s when I will look at it," he said. "The job is too big to allow too much self-praise.

“I’m hear to give as much to this club as I can. When you are gone then you will leave a legacy but for now I’m so proud of everyone in the team, the staff because it’s a real special achievement.

“I’m not so sure it will happen again in my lifetime. You just need to look at when it was done before - in the 1890s and it was only an 18 game season.

“This is a 38-game season and with so many variables in football, that’s what makes it a brilliant achievement.

“You go away and lose 7-0 in Barcelona, you come back and lose in your next performance. There are matches when you are behind, you go to your big rivals, away at Aberdeen, these are all tough games.

“The way they have coped with the pressure, the intelligence tactically, it’s such a hard achievement to keep that focus in games and in even in training.

“Whether it will be done again, it’s out there for everyone to have a go at. We’ll have a go at it again next year."

And while the Invincibles tag will forever be associated with Rodgers' inaugural season at the club, the 44-year-old has insisted that it was never a motivational tool that was employed by him this season as he drove the players forward.

“It hasn’t been a key feature until probably Thursday night because there are so many things out of our control," said Rodgers.

"All we could prepare for was what we could plan for. The players had arrived at two games to go and you can’t hide from it.

“It wasn’t about going through the season unbeaten it was how we did it.

“The tactical discipline shown and the excitement they have given the fans has been incredible to watch and they now stand alone in history which is fantastic."

Trust me so did most of our wonderful press corps. Can you imagine one brain cell bigot Chris Union Jack trying to understand that.

Stuart pausing momentarily to look up from his relaxed perusal of Caeser's Commentaries to tell the squad what the word meant.
