The consistency of performance is as good as anything I have seen from any Celtic team

They go out and play at a high tempo from the first minute to the last

That was outstanding tonight, a real pleasure to watch
BR said he wanted to improve fitness, physical and mental. He sure has done that.
Used to annoy when we played teams in European competition and their skill level and ability on the ball was way above ours even from some of the 'lesser' teams. No fear of that now.
There have been so many improvements made this season, but for me it has been a joy to watch how we look to protect the ball, that we have so many players providing the player in possession with options, we are passing with confidence and our one and two touch is superb.

The obsession we have with the ball has been a joy to watch.

It's a pretty unique thing in Scotland wanting to completely control every aspect of a game and implementing it effectively.

The possession and ball retention absolutely shags the opposition when they have to chase it all the time - It is brilliant to watch. :rocker:

Yup. By far and away my favourite domestic non-hun performance this season was our 4-3 win against Motherwell.

How often have you seen any team go 2-0 behind and suddenly panic sets in? The keeper or defenders just launch it and try to fight for the second ball, get a wee stroke of luck or try and win a free kick further up the park, wingers just firing aimless balls into the 'danger area'? We didn't. We remained calm and recycled possession. Every one of our goals that day comes from remaining patient and trying to work something rather than forcing the issue or just blootering it up the park. It's a lesson that many technically better European countries have embraced and championed and one that Brendan hopefully teaches the rest of Scotland.

HE stands just one game away from joining two dugout legends in Celtic’s pantheon of greatness.

Once Sunday’s final league game against Hearts is over, Brendan Rodgers will turn his attention towards dumping Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup Final.

Achieving that would see the Hoops become Treble winners — and Rodgers’ name up alongside Jock Stein and Martin O’Neill as the only Hoops bosses to achieve the feat.

But Rodgers admits seeing his name mentioned in the same breath as that esteemed duo would feel WEIRD.

He said: “It would be a bit surreal really. It’s an incredible thing. I’ve not thought so much about it to be honest.

“It’s a notion you don’t want to go too far into or you can start to wander.

“I’ve tried to retain the focus on winning games and playing the way we’ve been playing.

“I’ll think a little bit more about it and what it means if it actually happens.

“To be anywhere near that achievement at such a big club, with all the history and its status worldwide, I would be very privileged.”

Stein twice oversaw the domestic clean sweep — in 1967 and 1969 — while O’Neill achieved the feat in 2001.

That came in O’Neill’s first season in charge, something Rodgers is trying to repeat.

The current gaffer’s admiration for the two former hotseat heroes is clear.

After masterminding Celtic’s 5-1 thrashing of Rangers in the first Old Firm game of the season Rodgers told how he had used the 31st anniversary of Stein’s death to inspire his side in his team talk.

He has also spoken with fellow Northern Irishman O’Neill since taking over in the summer.

Rodgers said: “I don’t know Martin that well at all.

“We spoke when he was Sunderland manager but I didn’t play against him when I was at Swansea and our relationship only started when I joined Liverpool.

“I always admired him from a distance. I always followed Northern Ireland players and managers and Martin has had a brilliant career.

“He’s revered up here at Celtic for what he did in his five years.

“He’s someone I can pick the phone up to now and ask an opinion on. I really respect him.

“I spoke to him earlier this season about a player he’d worked with.

“It overlapped into a general discussion on Celtic.

“We’re both from the same bottle back home in terms of being supporters.

“We know what it means to people and what it means to manage here.

“I was at Reading when he won the Treble here in 2001.

“I knew the history that was being created back then and how difficult it was.

“Martin had a fantastic spell here and I have huge respect for him.”

Out on the pitch The Huddle has become synonymous with the Hoops.

But Rodgers revealed he also gets the players together in the dressing room beforehand.

Asked about the motivation to win the Cup, he said: “You have to find something.

“We have a circle in our dressing room before we go out and it’s a symbol of co-operation and trust.

“I will say some words in there. You are always trying to hook the players emotionally.

“They want to achieve things and you’re always trying to harness their intelligence and emotional strength.

“You have to find the words and the actions to allow them to achieve.”

Ladbrokes Premiership Manager of the Season Rodgers’ affinity with the Scottish Cup started as a kid back home in the village of Carnlough. He said: “My big thing with the Scottish Cup Final when I was growing up was it was on the same day, the same time, as the FA Cup Final. If Celtic were in it, I’d watch the Scottish Cup Final and if they weren’t, I’d watch the FA Cup.

“At that time it might have been Man United, Arsenal or Liverpool and there was always an Irish contingent.

“But if Celtic were playing, I’d be watching them.

“My brothers didn’t argue with me, I was the oldest.

“However, my dad might have wanted to watch the FA Cup Final so I’d have to go to the pub to see Celtic play. That’s where I watched the Dundee United final in 1985, which was my favourite.

“I remember clearly coming out and Man United had won the FA Cup thanks to Norman Whiteside’s winner against Everton.

“Celtic had won a dramatic final and a Northern Irishman had won it at Wembley with a great finish.”

Before their preparations for the Cup final can get up and running, Celts must finish their league business today.

Avoid defeat against the Jambos and the Hoops will complete the league campaign undefeated.

When Arsenal’s Invincibles did the same in 2004, Rodgers was working in Chelsea’s academy.

He said: “It is all relative. You’ve got the Italians, AC Milan they did it.

“I’ve been lucky enough to work with Kolo Toure and Ashley Cole who were at Arsenal at the time.

“Knowing the types of characters they are gives you a feeling of what’s needed to go through a season unbeaten, to achieve that.

“You think in a way all these games are about challenges you have to respond to.

“Thankfully I’ve come here and I have a group of players who have responded to how we wanted to play.

“You can’t fix what you don’t have but what you can do is energise, engage and motivate players and get them to commit to something.

“That’s why we are where we are at this stage of the season.”
