Hun in work just said to me there, I usually hate your managers as they are quite easy to dislike and give stick to but with BR its different. I can't help but like him. Everything about him, the way he talks about not just Celtic but the Scottish football and just football in general.

Sevco fans hanging on the every word of a Celtic manager?

He's being assimilated. Never was there a truer statement than, "your grand children will be Celtic fans".

Listening to him talk about Martin O'Neil and how he stayed for 5 years and became a legend, there's no way i hell Brendan leaves before the 10. 3rd manager to win the treble (Jock Stein, Martin O'Neil, Brendan Rodgers), 2nd manager to do 9 in a row(Jock Stein, Brendan Rodgers), first manager to do 10 in a row (Brendan Rodgers). He'd be a legend, and as a Celtic supporter that's worth more than any pay rise in the world
I like the cut of your Jib.

The Rodgers will be off stuff is symptomatic of a proper inferiority complex possessed by some in our support.

Demebele was defo off in January, we just have to accept Tierney will be off as soon as a proper bid comes in, eff a few months worth of decent from Armstrong and suddenly the I just hope we can get another year or 2 out him before hes off posts started to appear.

This has been a proper feel good season, maybe try an ditch the paranoia that all our staff are itching to get out the door to England and actually enjoy it.

Our Harald Brattbakk thread turned into a Gordon Marshall thread, there's truth in your words.

I got bored pretty quickly with the noise and conjecture over MON leaving from day one onward, just gonna sit back, relax and enjoy Brendan being in charge no matter how long that may be, glory days to be savored.

Up until last week I would have wholeheartedly agreed with every word of your post TC. Like you, I'm seduced by Brendan's soft Irish brogue, that all year Mediterranean tan and the glint in his eye when he tells us directly or indirectly he's here for 10 in a row.

However I spoke to someone from the club last week, someone very close to the action, and they winced at the suggestion he'll be here till the end of his current contract. Most staff share this opinion apparently. A successful CL campaign and he (not to mention half the first team) will be offski is the general consensus.

Now this is nothing more than someone else's opinion - albeit someone who is privy to what goes on behind the scenes - and I sincerely hope it turns out to be shengus, but it's not just Hun wishful thinking to form a view that he won't be here forever.

Fair ruined my weekend, the bastard.
amazing the different stories you hear, but I have heard exactly the opposite. Things in motion just now that suggest he's going to be here for at least the duration of this contract, and like you Neilly, that comes from people very close to the action.

Definitely this scenario is the one on the table - I will go as far as to say the negative scenario is bollocks and I'll take the flack on here if proven wrong - Rodgers himself says things can always change in football but he in terms of the Celtic job he was specifically referencing him failing.

You can't always believe everything people in Celtic say - One told me in all seriousness that after his first season Ronny Deila had high ambitions for himself, was touting himself about the place and it was felt by some within the Club we might not be able to hang on to him.

That's just bollox tbh - it's realism.

Listen to Rodgers talk in the interview with Sutton about it just being a fact that we cannot hold on to players getting offered 80k a week elsewhere - does he have an inferiority complex?

Rodgers will go once he's ready to and if he gets something he finds exciting and challenging - I'd imagine it would be the continent or somewhere he can get a decent shot at the CL.

Players will always chase the cash and due to the doped up EPL we are, at present, in the second or third tier when it comes to wages.

We have so much going for us but are hampered by geography and tv money.

Hope he stays and is successful, but who the eff knows? Not hard to believe there are many people within CP with differing views about where he'll end up in an year.

A year from now we may have done all right in the CL and skelped the huns a record score, but he's leaving and we're annoyed & betrayed & angry. Or we may have bombed out of Europe and lost a couple of league games (perish the thought) and got booted out of the cup by a McInnes-managed sevco side and yet he's staying and we're all talking about blooms being off roses & etc.

But so far he's certainly talking the talk convincingly, and the results speak for themselves.

I am realistic, I know we will sell players and that Rodgers will move on at some point but from some it goes we beyond that. Despite Rodgers and our players making all the right noises about this being where they want to be for the time being, some folk refuse to accept it.

Fair dos - I for one believe what Rodgers and some of the players are saying but am not naive either.

No wonder they love it here - I'd give anything to play for the Hoops. It must be wonderful especially at times like this.

However, If someone offers to quadruple my wages for doing pretty much the same job I am almost certain to bolt unless I am already minted or have very strong personal reasons for turning it down. Each person is different but most would do the same.

To be fair early on in the first season we played some good stuff I remember us grubbing Dundee Utd and I did think a rolling one year contract wasn't very secure.

Celtic for Brendan is like a dream we all have whether to play in the hoops or manage it's in his DNA so to speak I can only say the media linking him with a move away so early means they know we are going in a direction that other clubs in our city can only dream off. Brendan will be here as long as we want him no dirty slag of an English club flashing there knickers at him will make him do the dirty on us.

If Brendan says he's staying, he's staying. The board obviously need to continue to think big (prudently), and, presuming they do, things will only get better. We've settled for mediocrity for so long our natural optimism has waned. COYBIG!

I can't see Rodgers leaving unless it's for a top 4 English team, and let's be honest no one would blame him for that. He'll be here for the duration of his contract and maybe more.

Why leave a man instead of a God?

When he leaves it'll be after the ten.

Until that day the speculation is just that. Enjoy the effing ride :rocker:

It's a fickle sport and fans are forever our own worst enemies.

Like has been said already let's enjoy the time we're in and keep our fingers crossed that this season will be an unprecedented success. Then we can start to enjoy next year too.

Unless someone is very close to Brendan, Peter Lawwell or Dermot Desmond, I doubt they would be anymore in the know than anyone else.

The man is a class act in every way and if you cut him he bleeds Celtic.

You can see that he is loving every minute just as we are, and if he does eventually go then it will be with a very heavy heart.

All we can do is support him and the team with all our heart and enjoy the moment.
