Despite a fantastic season he's on record saying he's only just gotten started in terms of where he wants to take the club.

There's no point in discussing him leaving because it will be way down the line before he goes anywhere. Still so much to look forward to before he does.
This.

Too much of this Brendan leaving chat, enjoy the moment FFS. He's one of us and won't be gone before winning that 10th title.

I hope he stays forever.

Brendan is going nowhere . He's here to try for the Ten, but I think even more than that, he sees an opportunity to have a go at the Europa League. Now that would cement his place in our history.
the 2019 europa final hasnt been decided yet but seville is one of the 6 stadiums up for it :naught:

sevillas stadium rather than the 2003 venue but it will do

I think he'll have a feeling of unfinished business down South. A lot of people down there continue to paint him as a sort of David Brent type figure and are completely ignorant of how close he came to leading a fairly average Liverpool squad to the title. I think he's at Celtic for the long run though.
he'll do a MON and take them out in Europe :arrr:

Hopefully stays for ten

Gut feeling he won't cause he wants to go back to England or Spain
He's not here to half do the job. He's more than aware of what it means to be immortal at Celtic. He wants the ten more than you or I do.
I reckon Rodgers would only leave for a massive English club or a big club in Spain or Italy.

No way would he go to some no mark outfit in the EPL.
Go through the big English Clubs and there's none at the minute he would get or go to..
Liverpool .. not again
Man Utd ..not after Liverpool or whilst Mourinho is there
Everton ... again not after Liverpool and Koenan ain't going anywhere soon
Spurs ... no chance whilst Pochettino is there
Chelsea ... no chance whilst Conte is there
Arsenal ... a slight chance if Wenger goes but they are more inclined to go foreign I think
After these lot there's no chance of him wanting to go to a West Brom ,Stoke , West Ham etc and mid table obscurity .

Never mind lurkers, there are plenty on here who simply can't seem to accept that he has stated time and again that he's just started the job, he's the happiest he's ever been and he wants to leave a lasting legacy at the club he supported all his life. He's not just living his dream, he's living the dream of his family.

He set short term targets to make a quick mark on out history and he's three games and one goal short of achieving all of them. He has also set longer term targets which we can assume given the length of the contract means getting to 10, while he has also spoken about Europe - which he has said is a bigger challenge than any England can offer him.

The guy plays things with a straight bat. He doesn't need the money. He's no itch to scratch in England. He spoke about wanting to manage Celtic when he was in the EPL (not about wanting to manage one of the 'big' clubs in England).

For him, as he's stated just about clearly as anyone can, Celtic isn't a means to an end. It is the end. Having been unable to play for us he wants to make his name ring out as a manager. He knows what needs to be done and he's going to give it his best shot.

It would be good if some Celtic fans could accept this, never mind anyone else. Get rid of the EPL inferiority complex and obsession with money. He's here for the glory and the dream so the least we can do is enjoy it.

Good interview, fascinating insight into how simple, humble and practical he is. Not at all what I had thought last summer before he arrived

Found myself welling up at the end

He has 1 domestic defeat for me. After that is Brendan_is_not_da_man :ph43r:

My old dears are very difficult to please when it comes to us. Pains at time with it. However, they absolutely gush when talking about him. Can't praise him highly enough. That's my gauge for a Celtic manager making it

Personally I would. Your legacy is cemented at that point. Let someone else carry on your work.

We all love the club but if I was a manager I would like to test myself elsewhere at some point as well.

This is his job, this is his club and we are his people

He works harder for our club than anyone

He's a good man who's surrounded himself with the same

And he wants to deliver more for our club than any of us can imagine

He's insatiable for Celtic :worthy:

If at the end of his 4 year contract we had made say the Europa League last 8/4 in his previous 2 seasons, he might be tempted to stay if he was offered investment. I don't think he would stay just to do 11 in a row or anything like that.

Seville isn't built to host a final.

That was horrendous in 2003. Lovely City but not fit for this type of event.
