Just add a few wee random snippets of information.

Lennoxtown is currently in lock down and will remain so until after the Rangers game. Gives an indication of how serious we are taking the final push of the season. No one is allowed access unless Brendan knows about it. I believe a few of youth games have been moved elsewhere.

The treble is not allowed to be mentioned. Journalists have been pre-warned and players have been told not to answer questions on it.
Sounds like a John Carpenter movie
Escape from Lennoxtown :arrr:

Absolute garbage. Lots of cheap Brazilian buys all over Europe that make an impact.
And they usually score into us when we play in Europe. There must be loads- Alan, Neymar, Elber, Juninho, Sonny Anderson, Lucio guy that played with Beer Sheva, Luisao, Brandao, Wamberto, Ronaldinho, Derlei and Kaka spring to mind
Matuzalem and Eduardo as well. Lol im sure one of the astra goalscorers was as well. And that's us just covering the Brazilians 😂😂

Yes, the ones that have been bought for a fair wedge of cash by the likes of Shakhtar and are on megabucks, usually do. (Douglas Costa, Willian, Brandao, Luis Adriano, etc) Since 2010 Shakhtar have spent over €100m on Brazilian players and would be paying them vast salaries. We won't be shopping in that same department.

To get anyone of real talent from that area, without the big clubs knowing about them, would be very difficult. Then there's player's ownership, agent's fees, etc, that usually arise and it would be a right sore head for the club. I just think there would be better value in other parts of the world.
Absolute garbage. Lots of cheap Brazilian buys all over Europe that make an impact.
Many in the U.K.?

Is it only me thats finding the Lee Congerton pr blitz bizarre? Is it normal for scouts to take the credit for players that didnt actually sign for the club said scout was employed at? :suspect:

BRENDAN Rodgers demands the very best of his Celtic players on every occasion they take to the field in either domestic or European competition.

So it should be no great surprise that he is asking just as much of his new Head of Recruitment Lee Congerton as he looks to strengthen his squad this summer.

Rodgers has charged Congerton with identifying raw talents with the ability to become as exceptional as Philippe Coutinho, Neymar and Alexandre Pato in time. No pressure Lee.

Yet, those were three of the players who his renowned talent spotter recommended he sign during his time as an academy coach at Chelsea - and he expects nothing less going forward.

Hyperbole much.

The idea that Brendan has told this guy to get him the next Neymar or else is absurd.

But he stressed his affection for Celtic has grown since he followed Rodgers, whose side take on Ross County in the Ladbrokes Premiership in Dingwall on Sunday, to Glasgow last summer.

He told the Celtic View: "You can't work at Celtic and not build a love for the club. It's an amazing place to work and it's a privilege to be here. The atmosphere is amazing."

Good shout. Apart from the fact, two of them I've already mentioned. Much did they cost and how many were already in Europe?

Edit: This is for the transfer thread.

Probably right but discussion is relevant here too.

We need to be the team to bring them to Europe though, I think is the point.

BR: Obviously there are tough games from now until the end of season but we’ll prepare & we’ll try to finish the campaign the best we can.

BR: Motivation not an issue, you saw it against Kilmarnock, the tempo and intensity was outstanding.

BR:This is a club where there is a demand and an obligation to perform every time you play, we want to win every single game that we play.

BR: Between now and the end of the campaign I’ll look at some of the fringe players, but I don’t give up places just for the sake of it.

BR: If a young player comes in, he has to earn his place in the team, they need to fight for their place.

BR: If they impress in the Development Squad and do well there, then they have a chance.
