Great bit of business and the perfect squelcher for all the ill-informed, agenda-laden speculation that he'd be off to a bigger [sic] club in the EPL as soon as he could. This is the benefit of hiring a manager who considers managing Celtic to be the best job in the world and didn't hesitate for a moment when he got the chance of taking it.
It's also why I'd never wanted to see the likes of Moyle, Lambert, Coyle or Keane being connected with the post.
This is the first time in a very long while that I've started to feel that we could become a serious force in Europe again and it really looks as if the club is committing itself to pulling out all the available stops to achieve that.
Very exciting times!

He named all the Celtic employees in the match programme. However, those who provided him with the list forgot to mention the five employees of the Belfast Celtic Superstore. When it was pointed out to BR he arranged to fly the five over to Glasgow to thank them in person. He's a class act

He did a piece about PL's interview in the Herald about 30 mins ago but hardly big or revelatory news given it's already plastered all over a national. Some confusion somewhere along the way methinks... Paddy would have been good right enough

Might have something to do with Politicians being scared to sanction Celtics development plans due to the possibilty of them being outed as secret Timmys. Pl isn't happy. Its been mentioned in a few papers today.

Aye.

Even the difference in public persona and statements make the world of difference. Brendan is clear about the size of the club, the potential for development, and what he wants to achieve here to help us grow. Keane and even Lambert and Coyle are EPL sycophants; know our place, can't compete, poor relations, etc. I bet any of the three of them would be delighted to be offered the job now.

Getting the BRodger for another 4 years is great news but it is just ONE step on the way for Celtic to become an established force in Europe.
The other problem is keeping our best players. There is/has been much talk about Gordon, KT, Jozo, Armstrong, Dembele, etc. moving to the Lands of Milk and Honey. The likes of McGregor and Rogic could also attract admirers. Losing one or two of these would be hard to cope with and replace. Having the best manager in the world is a first step but the club must also take whatever steps it can to make the thought of leaving Parkhead a no-no for our best players.

The opportunity to achieve 10 in a row as Celtic manager is too great a pull. Talk about legendary status.

It's not the Lisbonne lions but it's as very close. A wee UEFA cup win would be great.
